JID's verse on Judas is straight up 3 Stacks imo. I usually hear a mix of Wayne and Kendrick in him, but thats Andre written all over it
I just love this album. I wish they had got Smino on a track or two like the Dreamville album did. Feel like he would fit perfectly My hype for JIDs next solo album is astronomical
Bronson with Harry Fraud or the Alchemist is the good stuff. He mixes with those two producers perfectly
I mean I wouldn't tell him watch the drink around the keys....so...somebody tell benny watch the drink round they keys
Fucking amazing song man Griselda dances on that beat. WMTS is a really good listen and although I’m a huge fan of what Conway accomplished with FKTAG I really appreciate Gunn keeping it thoroughly Griselda with his first Major. Busta and Slick Rick fit perfectly into that aesthetic and Cooks, Flee, Dza, Camino and Nack are money on Frank Murphy (cooks is tooo fucking clean) Conway and Benny on butcher and the blade fuck shit up and Black Thought is a god. Gunn is excellent at knowing what his lane is and what his sound is and has cultivated something that I am glad exists right now.
Jay Electronica's Act II finally leaked last night, and was uploaded on Tidal earlier today. Just Blaze says it's definitely real but also not entirely finished. I remember seeing him at Bonnaroo 2010 and thinking he was the future. If you don't have Tidal, you can search around on Twitter and find ways to listen to it.
Hopefully this Reason album tonight starts a long trend of TDE drops. Looking forward to the song with JID and Zay
I love that song but Sing About Me/I’m Dying of Thirst is on my Mt Rushmore of songs. It’s so powerful and poignant. Kendrick is a masterful songwriter regardless of genre
It’s so cool to me how he has his own vibe but still pays homage to the south. There’s something nostalgic about every song and I think that shits really cool. The Suns Tirade as well. Big Zay fan
I really don't know how to rank the Griselda albums from this year Pray for Paris, From King to a God, Burden of Proof, The Price of Tea in China, and Who Made the Sunshine...here's mine even though it'll probably change constantly 1. Burden of Proof 2. Pray for Paris 3. From King to a God 4. The Price of Tea in China 5. Who Made the Sunshine
Burden of Proof in number one and I didn’t think FKTAG could be topped. I keep listening to BOP trying to convince myself that I’m crazy for thinking it’s so good but for me, outside of the Rick Ross verse the album is flawless. Incredible energy from the production, Benny fucking skating on the beats like he’s 97 Hov and super good guest appearances. Freddie Gibbs is that guy. Conway is incredible (ion kno if it’s because shorty such a fan or that she realized in that moment I’m the mother fuckin man). BoP FKTAG POTIC P4P LuLu WMTS putting Boldy over P4P was tough but there’s some kind of haunting darkness with how he writes his rhymes and lays them down over those alchemist beats that just keeps bringing me back. Griselda had a fucking year man and I’ve appreciated every drop during this 2020 shitshow
"What's the stage with no mic and no voice of a poet? What's more important, the flower or the soil that grows it" good god.
