Finally watched ep 6. That was great. Thought Maeve or her GFs head was about to explode in their last scene.
Google predictive text ruined some spoilers of the comics for me this weekend; now I'm just hoping the show continues to diverge from them with overall story arc.
just finally got caught up on all the of the episodes. Wife started this a couple weeks back and kept telling me to watch, finally pulled the trigger last week and binged it. Absolutely fantastic. One question to last weeks episode, maybe I missed it. Why was Lamp Lighter willing to work with them in the first place? What did they have on him?
Pretty sure it was just overwhelming guilt about what he did to the colonel's kids from years before (among other things I'm sure).
Yea, I meant in that flashback sequence. Unless I got things completely confused, I was under the assumption that the flashback scene was them trying to convince him to work with them. He then went to kill the lady but accidentally killed her kid.
HOLY SHIT............ that is all Spoiler Also I'm proud of Maeve, if this goes like the comics next time she stands up for starlight she's gonna literally lose her head They do these little subtle things though that relate to the comics like the tranny porn scene on the TV and Maeve standing up to Black Noir in a different way but that's the first time she actually stood up for Annie. Also we now have confirmation Noir looks nothing like Homelander so this is definitely going in a different direction.
I know you spoilered it but I assumed it was about the latest episode, if you’re going to do comic spoilers beyond where the show is in the story, can you label as such?
The Comic doesn't really follow the story at all tbqh. I mean Stormfront's storyline alone is far and away from the comic. Back story matches up for the most part, except that character is only in like 2 issues at the most. He's mostly a background character that is barely seen at all. I even put in the spoiler that we have confirmation this storyline will be nothing like the comics, but I don't think that needs to be spoilered.
tbh I stopped reading when I realized it was about the comic so I have no idea what you actually said. just trying to avoid getting spoiled.
FWIW the show is far superior to the comic IMO for a number reasons. You don't need to read it unless you absolutely want to and I honestly wouldn't recommend it unless that's the case.
I binged this show over the last week or so. Knew nothing about the comics and coming into it thought Homelander was the protagonist.
Oh. It’s a show about super heroes cool. oh this is a new take, some of the super heros suck, but homelander is cool. oh shit homelander just murdered a kid and his dad for no reason, but he was threatening to reveal compound V. omg homelander just let a plane full of people die so nobody would find out he tucked up
Assumed the same thing since it was so similar to the way she crushed that security guards’ head back at the hospital
Thought about that too but didn’t the same thing happen to Raynor back when that supe was still in the psych hospital?
I could see them using her as a human weapon. Just know she and fring are the two most glaring loose threads heading into the last episode
Spoiler The church guy did say he thought a spot was going to be opening up for A Train to get back in and the new speed guy freight train or whatever is no longer going to be the head of a major corporation if I was keeping track of that last scene correctly...
Always avoided this show because I’m not a superhero/comic book guy but glad I was talked into it. Fucking diabolical.
Spoiler lost hard at Stormfront and Homelander being calm as a cucumber as everyone's heads are exploding all over the place. The look of mild confusion on their faces was absolutely perfect.
