First time being back at my local bourbon spot. Felt comfort bc I’m literally the only customer in here and they have all their windows open. BTAC sampler for $39. Handy, WLW, GTS. GTS my fav so far
Got half oz of Lot B after the flight and shouldn’t have. Tasted like sugar water compared to those hi octane badass pours. Lot B should have been the warm up.
$39 for that was definitely a fair deal. Probably the best bourbon I’ve ever had. Only do it on Wednesdays though.
Just got a 12 year EC Single Barrel SP for $59 shipped to Ohio Jump on these deals while they last https://bourbonoutfitter.com/categories/railbird-selects-shop-now
I’m wanting to start drinking more bourbon/whiskey, can someone help a complete new beginner? I don’t care about price, that’s not an issue. I checked the OP but that’s pretty overwhelming.
oh my god, this is a loaded question I would start with a bottle of bushmill, wild turkey and Johnny walker 12. drink à few glasses when you can but keep the same drink for the night, do not try to compare them on the same night.. You might be able to start realizing what you like the most. And the beautiful thing about it is that it can change and evolve. the only real advise I can give you, go with what you like . Don’t be scared to taste. You will find what you like and get tired and then you will find something else.
to tell you the truth my favorite whisky is laphroaig10 lately, but do not start with this. Too peaty and smoky for a beginner. For a beginner bourbon drinker I think bulleit does a solid job, not too strong
I’ve been thinking Bulleit or Buffalo Trace. Those are two I’ve had but not in awhile. I also have recently bought a bar cart for my home office and I’m trying to fill it. Again, I don’t know shit.
Start with some of these, they’re all inexpensive & all but BT & Weller are readily available: Elijah Craig Wild Turkey 101 Larceny Buffalo Trace (if you can find it) Weller Special Reserve (if you can find it) Maker’s Mark Old Granddad Bonded or 114 Knob Creek
Grab a few bottles, post comments in here what you’ve liked and didnt like, and some of the more experienced ITT can steer you in the right direction. My advice would be (all relatively easy to find and approx prices): Bourbon - Wild Turkey 101 $23, Russel Reserve 10yr $35, Buffalo Trace $23, Rye Whiskey - Sazerac $30, Old Forester $23, Pikesville $50 Wheated Bourbon - Larceny $23, Makers 46 $45, Weller Special Reserve $27 Barrel Proof Bourbon - Wild Turkey Rare Breed $60, Elijah Craig Barrel Proof $60 You’re probably close enough by someone ITT, so have them give you some samplers.
Actually, just go buy these and be done with it and enjoy. Bourbon - Russel Reserve 10yr $35 Rye Whiskey - Pikesville $50 Wheated Bourbon - Makers 46 $45 Barrel Proof Bourbon - Wild Turkey Rare Breed $60 or Bookers $90
See I love Makers Mark. I know I like Buffalo Trace and Bulleit. so I’ll grab all of those. I’m not a huge fan of Wild Turkey 101. The rest I’ll see what I can do. My brother in law manages a chain of liquor stores. So I’m going to buy a shitload at whole sale
Also, buy these Jake. Now you’re a pro. Libbey Signature Kentucky Bourbon Trail Whiskey Tasting Set, 4 Whiskey Glasses with Wood Paddle
Wild Turkey got a bad rep from over indulging in college. You’d be surprised by how good some of it is now.
All are welcome to Venmo me any sums of money they please, I’m a pretty awesome dude. I’ve been dabbling with cigars a bit too, but mainly stick to pipe tobacco even though it’s absurdly pretentious. I’ve never smoked a Padron that I didn’t enjoy, only brand I can say that about.
i smoke a lot of weed but I’ve been wanting to smoke more cigars. I like to get stoned, sip some bourbon and puff on a cigar...
