A K9 mauled a 51 year old man's leg for 2 minutes and punctured his femoral artery. Police let him bleed out. Montgomery PD has made the video of the incident confidential so it can't be entered into public evidence. This is their pathetic fucking reason for it. "The jury would be influenced by the depiction of events that suits Plaintiff’s narrative,” city attorney Christopher East argued in a court filing, calling the plaintiff's argument "vitriolic." “Not to mention the potential of creating and/or facilitating civil unrest based on the graphic images alone" I get really disgusted by police K9's mauling people, it's barbaric. I'd rather be shot.
I can't vouch for all police departments - but for my CUPs we are required to keep at least 30 days of footage as well as supply it to police. I'm sure there are some OG gas stations, businesses, etc. (especially in small cities) that have actual tapes that could be taken though. But it typically would violate your ability to operate (in LA) if you ever did not provide footage for a crime investigation. If I ever just supplied it to police and did not supply to the attorneys representing any parties involved in an incident it could literally shut down a business (I'm still dealing with a slip and fall from 2017 because of a power outage).
“If the world saw how awful these police tactics are, they’d become opposed to them and protest us” doesn’t seem like a valid reason to keep the video from the public.
It's also worth noting the article mentions Jonathan later died at the hospital. Police called off a med helicopter, and the hospital is ~25 minutes away from the gas station where the shooting occured.
I know what the witnesses said, they probably didn't charge him with murder over some witness statements (sounds like there were a lot of witnesses though, so idk). The video must be very clear cut.
Well this is all just horrible Hunt County, is only just beginning to process their loss. One of those struggling to do so in recent days was Katie Walden’s 71-year-old father, Don Morrison. A former NFL linebacker who played for the New Orleans alongside Archie Manning, Morrison went on to become a four-term constable in Hunt County after his playing days ended. It was in that role that the six-foot-five, 250-pound white lawman came to know and love Price, the hard-working local kid with the sort of rare athletic talent that only another former player could fully appreciate. The men loved to talk football whenever they’d run into each other. “Jonathan always talked about my dad being a local hero and a beast of a man,” said Walden. The past two days, she said, her father has called her to talk about Jonathan. Both times, she said, he broke down crying. “The only other time I’ve seen my dad cry was when his father passed away,” she added. “That shows you what kind of person Jonathan was. My dad doesn’t cry.”
A group of Proud Boys showed up to Jonathan’s vigil last night to cause chaos. The group was chatting with the police officers before they brought out guns and a German Shepard to bark at the crowd peacefully protesting. Up next, the police officer who shot Jonathan is a Q and Proud Boy type..
And the defense attorney is already playing the “he reached for a weapon” card “Officer Lucas responded to a fight in progress call. He saw several people gathered at the front of the store. Mr. Price approached Officer Lucas. Mr. Price did not claim to be an uninvolved, innocent party. Officer Lucas told Mr. Price he was detained, and Mr. Price resisted. After Mr. Price refused repeated instructions and physically resisted, Officer Lucas deployed his taser and continued to give Mr. Price instructions. Mr. Price resisted the effects of the taser and attempted to take it away from Officer Lucas. Officer Lucas only discharged his weapon in accordance with Texas law when he was confronted with an aggressive assailant who was attempting to take his taser.” - Defense Attorney Robert L. Rogers
Once again, cops are going to start getting shot because of the perceived risk and the fact that they get away with it.
"So remember, kids, whenever you ask officer frandly for help, make sure to tell him you're NOT the bad guy first"
I assume this is parody because that is 100x worse. Edit: I guess I could have clicked the twitter link...
Cop in TX was fired and charged with murder within a week. Less backing your friend at all costs and more of this, please.
Look at this slope headed motherfucker.i hope he dies in prison https://twitter.com/well_regulated_/status/1314939346911408135?s=21
Two competing protests were scheduled Saturday afternoon at Denver's Civic Center Park, where the museum is located. One event, called "BLM-Antifa Soup Drive," was hosted by the Denver Communists and other groups, according to a Facebook event page. The other, dubbed a "Patriot Muster" rally, called on patriots to "stand up" and "show up" in promotional materials.
https://patch.com/alabama/tuscaloosa/groups-calling-tpd-transparency-kendrell-watkins-case Tuscaloosa PD killed a man back in August and there is a protest outside their headquarters planned for this afternoon. TPD lied in their initial release by saying he was conscious when paramedics arrived. Body cam footage shows him being tased then beaten and pinned down until he passes out. It took them almost 10 minutes to get an ambulance to the scene and according to his mother, he was dead when he arrived at the hospital.
This reeks of the foreign actors setting up conflicting rallies via social media in hopes of some violence, no?
This one is a doozy. Cops beat the shit out of a guy, guy dies, cops tell the hospital he was in a car crash and died on impact. https://apnews.com/article/john-bel...ce-louisiana-dc51668ec596f27e81c2c0c27d6f08c0
Holy shit. Heads better roll on this one. If Biden wants to gain black votes, announce he will use the DOJ or some branch to independently investigate any police involved shooting or death. Take it out of the hands of local officials.
