They're not going to be able to play because the organization didn't do their part to prevent the spread within the team, and it's still spreading.....they deserve to be punished
Punishing them for mishandling COVID. There's a very clear difference that I feel like you're refusing to see... They allowed their players to workout/practice on site when protocols say that no one can use the facility. They deserve everything they're about to get.
I feel like it's kind of one of those things you should allow leeway for when, you know, you decide to play football during a pandemic.
Or you punish the organization for not following the rules they agreed to in order to play during the pandemic...
The rules that other organizations are following and allowing them to play games because their teams aren't having outbreaks.
I don't really get the "punishment" part of this. The Bills would be getting punished if the Titans can't play because they wouldn't get a game check. The Titans would just have to forfeit because they don't have enough players and the league didn't build in make up games at the end. At some point, if you're bending over backwards to not make sure the Titans get to play all their game so you aren't "punishing" them, you end up punishing a bunch more people by making them play on short weeks and moving their schedules all around.
Me likey. the thing is, bills were already gonna be on a short week since their next scheduled game was KC on Thursday. I think They desperately wanna move the games to Monday and Saturday. More tv/eyeballs.
Moving a game from Thursday to Saturday seems like a problem for your major network television partner that is paying you billions to broadcast games. They'd rather have it Thursday night.
It's almost as if playing sports in a non bubble environment during a pandemic is a shitty idea that will lead to this kind of outcome But hey, wtf do trained professionals know about a disease they've been studying and have warned everyone about.
Other teams have followed the established protocols and been fine. The Titans did not follow those protocols. Not sure why that is so difficult for you and Redav to understand.
Players on other teams have definitely caught COVID so I'm not sure wtf this means. This outcome was inevitable the second training ended and teams had to start traveling around the country.
This is all so dumb, the MLB and College Football have gone through the exact same thing. It's literally happened now 3 out of 3 times. It was fucking inevitable You know which leagues this didn't happen to? The ones in the bubbles (NHL and NBA)
Sure they have. As have plenty of non football players. It's going to happen. The protocols have been established to prevent widespread outbreaks and super spreads. Tennessee has, thus far, had the only one of those situations.
Once again as the MLB and College Football showed you this was inevitable. This will also most likely happen again. I'm not sure why this is so difficult to understand.
The Pats actually had their game moved because of a positive test, but they followed protocols and got their game played a day late. The MLB is in the middle of their postseason, so I’m not sure how that isn’t considered a success
I'm not sure what your point is. I'm just pointing out that punishing anyone over this is silly because it was inevitable. I wouldn't call anything a "success" that knowing exposes people to a virus that could potentially ruin your career and could have long term unforeseen issues. The pros are being paid to accept this risk, what's going on at the college level is basically modern slavery. It's as fucking stupid as the Universities that brought back kids then blamed the kids when there was an outbreak. Yes that was inevitable, everyone said it was....
The point is they’re being punished for not following protocols, not having positive tests, as many other posters have pointed out.
And it's fucking dumb. There were outbreaks in the MLB, there were outbreaks in CFB. Everyone said "If you play non bubble sports there will be an outbreak." Christ Americans should be drowned. Just someone set the whole god damn country on fire.
MLB and CFB teams have followed protocols to the best of their abilities when outbreaks occurred. The Titans, as explained, did not. And that is why they're likely going to get punished.
Please show where MLB teams didn't follow the protocols like the Titans have? Cardinals, Marlins, Phillies completely shut everything down. Were they still holding workouts as the stadium during those shut downs? And comparing CFB to any professional league is just a waste of time as they're two different worlds.
Again, you're not understanding why the Titans are being punished. They're being punished for not following the rules/protocols that THEY AGREED TO.
Every player had the ability to opt out and make the decision on whether the risk of playing was acceptable or not. They’re doing their best to mitigate the risk of outbreaks in ways that are feasible for each sport. It seems like the only acceptable risk in your eyes is no risk at all. That’s completely fine, but it’s also okay that other people have a higher tolerance for risk. I don’t think the solution is setting the country on fire Spoiler RISK
juxtaposing the freakout Teams/League have with a players positive case against the lack-of-fucks-given teams/states have about putting fans in the stands and if someone contracts the virus who cares is peak 2020
