Accept is very much metal. If you're sitting on other stuff from 1982 that rips like this please share.

New Necrophobic is starting off nicely. I see Celestial Season has a new album. That's a band name I haven't heard since the 90's. I bet it sucks.

I've seen them live. Can't remember who they were supporting.

Any good? Seems like a band that would translate well to a live setting

I'm not the biggest fan, certainly not the reason I was there. I have one of their early albums, it's a digipak (bleh). Unless I'm thinking of someone else, Egypt? You might like Egypt.

I just like that "doomed heavy metal" sound or whatever Khemmis calls it.

I can appreciate the stuff like Bell Witch but I dont have much interest in ever running it back really

Some of the guys that played in some mid era Death albums got together with notorious asshole Kam Lee (featured on early Death demos) and made a legendary album back in 1991. I only bring it up because depending on your age you may not be aware ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Bill Andrews (Spiritual Healing, Leprosy)
    Rick Rozz (Leprosy)
    Terry Butler (Spiritual Healing)

If you're anti-death penalty I ask that you reconsider your position.

The comments are nearly as bad as the music.

    • 2020 and I’m still here. Saw em at warped tour 07 lost my girlfriends sister in the pit.
    • I remember this cd I got from buying a shirt at hot topic.
    • Still slaps hard. Imagine if this was 2020 quality.
    • This is still more of a banger than 99% of the other crap that comes out these days.

    Ok, back to Imperial Doom...

You're kidding me. Six Feet Under? Chris Barnes? Ex-Cannibal Corpse. Total joke of a vocalist, once an icon of one of the most popular if not the most popular death metal bands. You should travel down tat rabbit hole some day when you're bored.

They're so fucking bad. From their new album, which is apparently one of their better recent outputs.

They started off so-so in the mid 90's, this is almost respectable.

New Enslaved is out. They are one of my all-time favorite bands.

It always takes a few spins for me to get into a new release of theirs, things always seem so layered.

    What do you guys think?

i've heard good things about Pasage d'Hiver for a while, but finally got around to checking out their 2020 album, Im Wald.

this is epic stuff. early Darkthrone/first wave black metal vibes. awesome soundtrack for the colder weather.

I've only listened to it once, and while I prefer their early releases, this one may be a grower I spend more time with. They've had a few albums that never stuck, and a few I've never even got around to trying. Monumension and Vertebrae come to mind as two I didn't care for.

Agree that there are some that just don’t hit for me.

I universally love all of the older stuff, up through Mardraum.

On the proggier side, Ruun, Isa, RIITIIR, and E are all great.

i totally slept on the last Carcass album in 2013 (Surgical Steel).

heard some new singles from their forthcoming release that inspired me to check it out. really great NWOBHM-style guitar solos over the top of ripping (melodic) death metal.

Heartwork and Necroticism were key albums for my metalhead development.

For whatever reason I don't think Darkthrone really cares about merch

When I was looking like a year ago for a shirt with just the logo on it, all I found were bootlegs. Their webstore was pretty barren as well iirc

Necrogram I thought was quite good. Lilithu was shit. Death To All is a bit overrated by some but I still liked it a lot. Hrimthursum had one of my favorite Necrophobic tracks.
