I should go through the Necrophobic discography tonight. Minus the first 3 releases which I've played about 3,000 times each. I went through Agalloch's discography last night, some of it was tough to get through. Some of it I was hearing for the first time too. Hating John didn't make it any easier. Still like the debut best, 2nd album was good... probably liked that Marrow album third best. All the EP's were trash. I should stop rambling now.
Necrophobic Power Rankings: 1. The Nocturnal Silence 2. The Third Antichrist 3. Dawn Of The Damned 4. Death To All 5. Bloodhymns 6. Hrimthursum 7. Mark Of The Necrogram 8. Darkside 9. Womb Of Lilithu
figured I should post this in here too, King Gizzard pieced together a bunch of amateur footage from their show in Asheville last year then put the professional audio over it, just a cool little nod to their fans
Screwed my back up playing baseball today, looks like I'm going to have to pop some pills and rock the fuck out tonight.
Yeah I don't really understand how that whole thing continues to exist. Maybe he has a good job outside of that stuff? There's no way he's making enough money to scrape by (in NYC especially) from that show and their podcast
I think they are, surprisingly. https://www.kerrang.com/features/meet-the-guys-behind-metals-most-hilarious-talk-show/
If nothing else, it's definitely a nice change of pace from That Metal Show, where the hosts openly show hostility toward any band that debuted after like 1995 and they bring in some guy from WASP or whatever to play guitar solos as they go to commercial break
Me being a judgemental prick aside, you give me these four options and I could have pinned them on each guy fairly easy. -Battle Jacket -Slayer -Iron Reagan -Demolition Hammer
Speaking of battle jackets, I'm only a couple patches away from finishing my latest. This should please odin as he'll no longer have to listen to my jacket updates.
the new Spirit Adrift album is fucking incredible. https://listen.20buckspin.com/album/enlightened-in-eternity
Sorcery being added now, my high is wearing off. I'll probably take a second pill and get the Misery added then it'll be done.
Fuck yeah, listened to it last night. Their last three have been total bangers, didn't care for the first full length and EP.
I'm currently going through the The Chasm discography. People keeping telling me I'm wrong about them being second rate.
I had their releases from the 90's, like three of them, they just never stood out but their fanbase is Tool level psycho so I figured I'd go back through them before I start popping off in the thread.
I like Uada. Even have their patch on the vest. if they release another album that I don’t like, I’ll be forced to remove the patch as part of the honor code.
I've had to omit so many cool patches because my OCD wont let patches get too close to each other. Some people overlap patches, that would drive me insane.
That's one thing I like about the first jacket I made, mostly old bands that were finished before the 90's even rolled around.
That's awesome! I have a bit more real estate than you. Front looks like you could fit a couple more. I sew over pockets and all and then I bitch about it later when I need to put something in a pocket and can't.
Holy shit those last two patches took forever. The Misery came from the custom shop in Lithuania and for whatever reason they use the thickest patch stock I've ever seen. Stabbed myself a hundred times putting that one on.
uh... you'd never catch me bashing that legendary album. It's popular to trash for some reason, usually by tools that think the debut was their best work.
i must be confused about who didn't like that album. i hate doing rankings but it's probably a top 10 album for me. if nothing else it shaped my taste in that genre
also i admit that i inspect other people's jackets probably too closely while i look like a regular citizen at shows worst: two guys with giant BURZUM patches complaining about how all of the "new people" were ruining the scene at a Ghost concert in like 2013 best: some guy with a random Horisont patch among a dozen unreadable death metal patches
My buddy always shows up wearing some basic white t-shirt, shorts and a baseball hat. Luckily for him I show up metal enough for both of us.
I've tried to help him be more metal, I've got an awesome standard Large black denim jacket I've had for decades I told him he could have as well as his choice of whatever patches he wants out of about 200 I own.
I seem to be on a power metal kick now. Haven't quite hit bottom yet, you know, Hammerfall/DragonForce and whatnot. I fear I'll end up there at some point.
I always found Kiske's vocals to be a bit weird, similar to Shadowkeep in a way. If cringy vocals aren't a must you'd be better off with an actual good album like: Closer sounding to Helloween (German Power/Speed):
