That with the Colts getting destroyed by the Bengals so far, we probably have zero quality wins and have gotten ass-wiped by the two playoff teams we've played? (Reverse jinx please work)
He’s playing really bad, man. Don’t do the weird college fan thing. I love Baker, but most of today is on him.
I agree. Terrible passes. don’t act like the OL has been playing awesome though. even though his ribs are bothering him, he needs to play better. I’m not denying that.
Other than a couple of plays, the defense has been fantastic. just need to catch a couple of breaks and we are right back in this.
There are a lot of tormented souls itt. I’m looking for cause for optimism. I think we got that on that td drive. Baker has to get his shit together. I hope last year didn’t break him. If not, this team can be very good.
Not sarcasm at all. He was talking about going for 2 in the 2nd quarter which is dumb. A few minutes later he was saying he didn't think the Browns would hand the ball off when they were lined up in 5 wide. No shit Tony. Also, his voice is annoying.
NFL is hard. I like this team. Wouldn’t have minded Keenum getting a run earlier this quarter. Wouldn’t mind it now even. But now is a little late.
Sitting Baker today would’ve been the smarter move if he was hurt, but you also look at this game as a test...browns failed that test.
Hopefully the Browns become an afterthought again, because quite honestly this team seems to do better when the spotlight isn’t on it. Get healthy and roll into the wildcard with something to prove.
Agreed. I don't think he's a franchise QB. He's a serviceable guy, but that's probably the extent of it.
I’m not ready to give up on him yet, but I won’t allow myself to lament over him possibly not being the guy. The alternative is canning the season for someone better or possibly next year. I can’t wrap my head around that.
Ehh, he’s capable of all the throws. He just has to be an adult. It’s not all about proving yourself. Trying harder isn’t better.
Do we dare pull a Packers and draft a QB in the first round this year and try to slide him in 2022 unless Baker significantly improves? I don't know how you extend Baker at a league average or better contract given what we've seen 6 games into his third season. There are *18* QBs with $25m average annual contracts or higher this year. Assuming we'd need to extend him at 5 years at an average of $27-30m per year (essentially Jimmy G's and David Carr's contract), I don't know how this team improves if you shift $20m more of cap to Baker.
The problem with Baker is the same problems keep showing up. He's got the rest of the year but if it doesn't improve, move on and hope someone like Detroit moves on from Stafford or the Raiders move on from Carr
I was pretty disappointed with our game plan today too. When they're going to blitz like that you've got to spread them out and be effective in the short passing game.
