I always get Apple Care. It sucks adding that on to the cost, but the $99 replacement for literally almost any reason is better than any other deal out there. Plus, if you take the fee for the plan and divide it over the three year length of the protection, the monthly payment is basically nothing for that level of protection. Some of this could have changed recently as I haven’t bought for a year+ but I recommend it.
128gb 12 Pro Blue upgrading from 256gb 11 green. upgrade through Apple every year now with Apple care.
What do you do with 256GB of space? Going from 64 to 128 will allow me to download a lot more music off spotify. I'm guessing pics and videos will take up more space than with the 6S.
I ripped the face clean off my first watch about 10 days after I got it, before I put a protective shell on it. Cost me almost $200 to fix after I'd just paid $400 for the watch. Have purchased apple care on every device since then.
Better camera, also with all of these phones basically being a lease (monthly payment) I decided a few years ago to just get in on Apple’s upgrade every year payment plan option. So I’ll just get a new one every year.
64gb 12 blue. Waking up at 5am was not great. And the Verizon app blows and wouldn’t let me change the shipping address so I had to do a long back and forth with sales chat to get it done. But yeah, still should get it release day. I also found out I have been paying for a stupid $15/month protection plan so I can get this X screen repaired for $29 and then trade it in for better value. Edit: or fuck it, sell it on letgo for way more, what am I thinking. How do I check if this is unlocked and if it isn’t, can it be? Is it worth that process or just sell it as Verizon locked, if that’s the case?
I take about 10,000+ photos a year because of my job. Just finally got iCloud storage to more easily offload them to work computer. So I downgraded storage size. I also have a lot more music on my phone then I need. Right now I have 182gb
I’m using 182gb. 36gb Spotify. 26gb iMessages. 12gb podcasts I see a huge Other which I assume clears out when I upgrade/start over I use onedrive as part of Microsoft 365 and clear out my photos / videos regularly and don’t backup photos or videos with iCloud.
There was no difference for me. However, I wasn't trading in a phone or adding a line/signing a new contract.
I’m checking out on both apple and Verizon seeing different pricing chatting with both sales reps and nobody knows shit
What size and version are you looking at? How much space? I think my 128GB 12 came out to $35.xx per month through Verizon. I think it was 5 cents cheaper on Apple.
iPhone 12 64 trade in I’m 10 cheaper a month on apple but the question is what’s the service plan $90 is on apple checkout but I should be paying $60 per my plan on version
The alternative is upgrade in 2-year cycles. That way, your phone is yours, and you trade it in for usually approx $500 and reduces the next 2 years monthly payment...repeat. I just screwed this up as I waited 3 years and just smashed my screen without AppleCare, and my trade-in isn't worth the repair cost.
Apple offered me $250 credit for my X, my carrier offered $415 as long as I reupped my contract. I don’t plan on switching so it wasn’t a big deal to me.
Verizon only offered me $209 vs $250 with Apple so I went with Apple. Everything should be way simpler and same cost IMO
FYI, selling your phone yourself is almost always going to get you significantly more than what Apple offers you. I normally sell mine on Swappa.
I always do the Space Gray or Graphite color, but I have the Apple deal where I can upgrade every year. Apple is giving me $450 for my iPhone 11 Pro and I’m getting the 12 Pro for $2 cheaper per month with AppleCare. :shrugs:
No I didn’t. Last few years what I have done is just hook my phone to my computer to upload the photos I took for work but then I still keep them all of my phone. Then before I get a new phone I upload all of them to my computer/NAS and clear my phone. When you get to 8,000+ it kinda bogs down the upload through windows, so I just did the $1/mo 50gb cloud so I can download them for work easier.
iCloud backup storage helps offload a lot of data from my phone. In iCloud I have 75.3GB for Photos and 38.8GB for Messages. On my phone I only have 8.77GB for Messages and 1.72GB for Photos.
So I have been worth Sprint for a while, and they were recently acquired by TMobile who is adding a $200 credit for “loyalty” on top of the credit for a trade in on an iPhone. When I preordered this morning I called in bc I couldn’t see that option on the website. The guy who answered was an idiot and told me I couldn’t get it bc I wasn’t adding a line. On Twitter tonight I saw an advertisement for the same credit and replied that I preordered and was told it wasn’t available. They sent me a DM and went back and forth and 10 mins later they posted the $200 credit to my account. I have to say I am impressed in this age of shitty service to see they did it. I mean I had already completed the preorder. Bravo TMobile.
T-Mobile customer service and price points are awesome. Service is definitely shit compared to att and Verizon though. I’m personally hoping the service upticks because they crush it in all other areas.
Yeah that and the up to $500 eligible device trade-in credit on eligible plans is a legit good deal. Credits split over 24 months?
looking at getting a new laptop since my macbook air is about 7 years old and starting to go to shit. debating between the new air or pro
