I mean phillips is just turtling up on bottom. His lack of takedown defense, and understanding of how to stand up is quite alarming for a pro.
I have a 50% boost on any $50 UFC bet this weekend but don't know any of these people. I'm considering Alex Oliveira to win ($50 to win $60 instead of $40) but am open to suggestions if anyone feels passionately about something please
Interesting at +270 that means a $50 bet would win $200 instead of $135. Do you think he wins or just that he's undervalued?
He's good and could win but he's a heavy underdog for a reason. The guy he's fighting is as dominant as almost anyone has been in the UFC.
Just rewatched poirier vs Khabib. Gotta think Gaethje will be less helpless on the mat (Then again everyone is helpless vs him...). Also think Gaethje will be less timid striking in the center of the cage. He won’t be worried about getting KOd and will be more confident in a scramble if Khabib tries forcing a TD.Lastly I think it’s interesting Gaethje has been training w Usman, if anyone can come close to imitating Khabib’s unbreakable grip and heavy pressure it’s Usman. That said I’ll probably bet on Gaethje and not be surprised if he loses.
Put a lot of time into crunching numbers this week. Way ahead of schedule. So expect the write up hopefully by this evening sometime.
Anyone vs Khabib is like watching UGA vs Bama - I'll have to see Gaethje/UGA win before I believe it.
But Bobby Knuckles will be big for me, already laid a bunch down when I could get him at -102. Some pro UFC bettors think he is washed and Cannonier will be too strong and powerful for him. I don't know though, I don't think brute force is the way to beat Whittaker.
I meant it in terms of not pissing down their leg when the lights are the brightest. I think Gaethje is a dog and (to get us back on topic), I could see a flash knockout like Aldo/McGregor. They at least have talked about attempting something like that.
Actually early UFC Gaethje is much more UGA than Clemson - basically wearing out Alvarez and Poirier only to get KO'd late, right? But fuck you for turning it into this when I already took the shot at UGA.
He has been KO'd twice, once by Izzy (with a super accurate counter at the end of a round), and he got KO'd by wonderboy in 2014. He has eaten a lot of shots from power punchers, but only highly technical strikers have managed to hit him in the right spot for the KO. Cannonier isn't a spring Chicken, he is 36, got KO'd by Reyes 2 years ago. He has fought at HWT and LHWT and some seem to think that means he won't feel Whittakers punches as much. To me it means he's eaten more punches from bigger guys. He will have a reach advantage. I don't think Whittaker lucked into the belt, he truly was the best at the weight class until Izzy came up. IN 16 UFC fights, Whittaker closed as the dog 9 times. People have never been eager to give him respect.
