Yeah, you can choose your delivery date. If you want it by Christmas I’d order it now. Waiting a couple weeks will likely push your delivery past New Years. Peloton is also having to delay some deliveries due to a bottleneck at the Port of Los Angeles, so the sooner the better.
Good to know, thanks! I'm still feeling it out with the mrs. She's pretty cheap on the whole but I think she'd really like the peloton over our DIY app solution. The monitor swivel will make a big difference with how much she does the non-bike stuff on the app I think.
I can be cheap at times too, but I wish I had of pulled the trigger on this thing years ago. It ended up working out because we waited for the Bike+, but still. The only drawback is that every time I go down to our basement gym with the intention of lifting weights I end up on the bike. Damn thing sucks you in.
Also great to know. I end up being the one to kinda push for new stuff and she usually ends up thanking me later, but it’s all about positioning.
If swivel screen is the only thing you care about, get the bike, buy the Pivot for $60 and save a couple hundred bucks. https://topformdesign.com/product/pivot/
do the bike bootcamp workouts. Just did another one with Jess Simms and they have all been great hope she does more 60 minutes ones.
Generally when I lift I’m working on a bench or in a squat rack at heavier weights. Do they have anything that replicates that? Either way I’ll give them a whirl.
they are more combination (supersets) type moves that can be done with dumbbells. I have some decent size dumbbells that give me a good workout. Now I am not saying they’ll take the place of heavy lifting but they will give you a great workout and you won’t be upset that you didn’t lift that day. They are cool alternative workouts. I unfortunately don’t have a huge home gym. I have my peloton some dumbbells bands and yoga mat and blocks. PSA: Got a massage gun can’t recommend it enough. My legs feel great.
Anyone done Kendall's most recent 30 min hip hop ride? I normally ride above the ranges but I struggled with this one at the high end just using her calls. Good ride. Put up 420 even with my bum ankle. Had no choice but to keep up with her fine ass.
Thanks, will investigate. Tell me more about this massage gun. My wife has a 40% off coupon at Theragun and I’ve been considering one.
During prime day I got this one. Just received it and did it after my stretching. My legs feel great. I hate foam rolling so this is great. I have no idea how much it is now but for $40 is was a great buy. Totally recommend getting one if you don’t foam roll. Use code 9IALYMJ3 $40
Boom goes over 500 I think. There are a few of us with PRs in the high 400s for 30 min rides. I will say that crossing 400 for the first time in a 30 min ride feels pretty damn good. Best feeling was passing 300 on a twenty min ride the first time. Think boomer said he passed 900 on a 45 min ride. That's god tier and I don't ride enough long rides at the moment to get there.
Same thing just happened to us. Ordered the bike+ to upgrade our 3 year old bike on 9/20. Scheduled delivery was tomorrow 10/21. Got the email today with earliest delivery now 11/28. Also got the $100 bill credit offer but still pretty poor customer service to wait until the day before delivery to notify your customers. Fortunately, we haven’t sold our original bike yet but were in the process of doing so. We will have made 2 finance payments by the time the bike delivers. Don’t know that calling and bitching will change anything but may give it a shot. For anyone considering it I’d definitely order sooner rather than later if you’re wanting it by Christmas.
Damn, I ordered our Bike+ a few hours after it went on sale on 9/9 and we had an uneventful delivery on 10/13. I think the Bike+ demand is off the charts right now.
Feel like I'm plateauing again. Been about 5-6 rides I've been at slightly to moderately below my PR. I'm working a crazy amount of hours right now and not sleeping great, so I'm hoping there's other factors but having a tough time pushing through. Maybe that's just the natural cycle of being ~4-5 months in though.
Ours is scheduled for tomorrow, gonna be upset if I get the same email. Waiting another 4 weeks after waiting 5+ weeks is crazy
I don’t, because the way I have the bike configured allows me to see enough of the screen so that I don’t need to move it. But a ton of people on the Pelo Facebook say it’s great.
My workout space is a living room. I could remove the built in book shelves that are loaded with books, or I could get rid of a piano. Or I could buy a bike with a tv that can adjust.
Of course. But like I said, I don’t need to. When I do boot camp, I can see the screen. When I do weights or yoga, I use the tv.
We have a spare bedroom the in-laws currently use. I suppose I could move them, or one of the kids, to the garage. I could also put it in our bedroom where it was before, but then we're waking each other up or keeping each other up at our weird workout times. Also my bedroom would smell like a gym. Or I could put the bike in the biggest room in the house that no one ever uses. Or do you suggest I keep it relatively empty for tea time?
Totally normal. I recently hit my 30 min PR on 10/18. My previous PR was 8/14. In between those dates I never got close to my PR - I floated around mid 300s. One caveat, though, is I am focused a lot more on the weight lifting than Peloton. However I still think my point is valid.
Got the bike 2 months ago, and for some reason the cadence/resistance metrics stopped working in the last few days. They both show "0" when riding. Push some buttons on the device and Peloton sends me an email with some troubleshooting tips. None work, and it seems like it's a sensor control board issue. Email says "we look forward to hearing from you," so I replied. 20 hours later and still no response. Anyone ever dealt with the Peloton Support before? Is this normal? Will probably call when I get home from work, but if it's a dead sensor I'd like to start the process of getting it replaced ASAP.
Just ordered the bike+ and the toe cage adapter. Going to turn my living room into a locker room and all you haters can kiss my ass. happy to join the cult!
They said they’d call with one but cautioned they’re 5-12 weeks out. Which is an absurdly wide delivery window. I actually want a later one so it’s better timed with Christmas. I went ahead and pulled the trigger now expecting it to take that long instead of trying to somehow rush it before hand. Kids get a switch, parents get the bike+. Ahead of the curve this year and can mail it in from here!
Bike+? Did they give a reason? I’m wondering if it’s related to the bottleneck at the Port of Los Angeles.
Honestly it was kind of an impulse thing. They were only $35 and I figured we could use them initially while the wife picks out her own shoes, and later we could keep them around for guests. They seem easy enough to pop on and off. We have all the other stuff that comes with the packages already, so just figured I’d get the base package and figure out shoes later. Maybe clipless would have been better though.
I didn’t know peloton made a cage adapter or did you get it on Amazon? I think like with an outdoor bike you’ll lose power with the cage instead of the clipless
They make them but don’t list it anywhere. If you contact them via chat they’ll hook it up. Super weird. I just asked on a whim. I’m sure it won’t be as good as being clipped in and I suspect we’ll both get shoes in short order. Also, I fully acknowledge how weird it is that I have bigger commitment issues with shoes than I do a $2k bike.
I rode one in a hotel that didn't have clips. It had the cage and straps. There was a very noticeable 50+ kj drop off. I was also incredibly hungover, so...
Bagged a 60 minute PR of 678kj tonight on the Alps scenic ride. I'm not a big guy, so I'm pretty happy with that number. I'm a big fan of the scenic rides particularly when you just want to sit down and suffer for an hour or more.
