If I didn't have sleeping pills kicking in I'd fuck this thread up with 13 pages of power metal youeubes
Thanks. Quick listens At Vance hits closest (other than Gamma Ray of course) for me because of the tempo. Mid tempo and riffy is cool and all, but I want that fast melodic shit.
Maybe it'll grow on me but the Pallbearer album is kind of me I liked the prog direction they went in with the last one and I was hoping for more of that but it's not really there
second listen of the Pallbearer album the first 40 seconds of this song fucking rips. this could have been an absolute banger. i love the way their main dude plays and then they just kind of abandon it and meander for the next 6 minutes basically my summary of that album outside of the two songs that were already posted
still sent them $20 because i love Foundations of Burden and Heartless i don't understand why Foundations of Burden had such a low bass level. maybe to get on NPR, which is where i heard of them for the first time. this live thing sounds a lot better they also did a song called Dropout that honestly isn't a great song but the intro riff that carries the song is pretty good. and it sound nice live.
New Mork Gryning is great, but who are we kidding, all Mork Gryning is great. I still remember getting the debut when it came out and being shocked they were teeny poppers. I think one was even 15 at the time, Giuliani can confirm.
Portland Oregon's Glacier has released their first album in 35 years... and it's a banger. They had an EP in '85 on Axe Killer Records. Not sure why I'm telling you guys all this, doubt it's a band any of you would enjoy. Old people stuff.
New Pallbearer is pretty much what I expected, found tracks 1-3-5 to be the better of the bunch. Probably not something I'll return to much.
Foundations of Burden is perhaps my favorite album of the last decade. Pretty disappointed in the new album. Also sent them 20 bucks.
I can't tell if you guys are serious or not. I'll try to find where I saw it posted and see if there's a link.
Is metal mainstream now? I tried to tell you guys shit like slipknot needed to be fought tooth and nail. It's all downhill from here.
hot take alert: my care level is low about this, but i also hate posers outside of a few years, this thing that we like has never been cool. i'd rather that the "influencers" leave it alone. on the other hand, if it makes even an extra $1 for those bands, i'm 100% cool with it
My brother wore a Dio shirt in the 2nd grade (he sends me the photo every so often just as a FU), and since we fought our entire childhoods I've technically been fighting metal posers since 1980. He couldn't name a single Dio song if his life depended on it.
i am a new member so i don't know what the first part is referring to but is it actually fake? i will listen to Down with the Sickness 10 times as penance, if true
It's from this clearly satirical metal injection "interview" https://metalinjection.net/intervie...-behemoth-taake-the-metal-injection-interview
my stance on posers has not changed also i lied and i will not be listening to Down With the Sickness
I look forward to debunking these photos for a third time with a completely different user in a couple years.
This is where I land on it. If it can help a struggling band breakthrough or get money in the pockets of some guys that really need it, let them have at it
Just hearing about this Deftones "Black Stallion" project coming out in December (remixes of White Pony by other artists). Intrigued! Apparently this is a song from it:
