Picked this up at TP this weekend. Bourbon and apple brandy barrel aged.

In other news, False Idol has only been open for a short period of time, but they are legit. Everything I tried there was good to great. Great spectrum of IPAs from boozy to dank and they had a cranberry crumble sour that was tasty.

Went back to Turning Point after and was pretty disappointed in their IPA offerings after coming from False Idol. BA stout game remains untouched, though.

TPs fascination with triple and now quad IPAs is infuriating. We don’t need to pack on winter weight for our 50 degree winter cold fronts....

Yeah, it’s not like they’re making a ton of weeknight drinkers right now. The consensus in the group I was with (and one of the TP staff) was that even this Texa$ batch wasn’t that great.

    I fucking wish.

Between my buddy and I (who is in Iowa), we entered 40 emails and we thought we were doing well. Nope, didn’t win shit. One of his insane beer friends in the Des Moines area entered 400 different email address. Only won 3 bottles.

There’s rumors they’re going to do a dinner with a tasting menu & beer pairings at TG (just like they’re doing with the Assassin) and will be giving away a KBBS bottle with dinner. I think we’re going to try for that, such a mother fucker to get up there though.

I got one too. I feel like everyone did. A group of 5 of us that all got one, are trading 4 of the bottles for other big time bottles and were gonna have a nice share. We already traded my set for an SR71.

I know you don’t need an explanation, but beer is just super local now imo. While CBS is good, there’s a flood of beer in larger markets that is better. Decent adjunct barrel aged stouts aren’t hard to come by anymore and that wasn’t the case even 5 years ago.

I’m a lazy beer drinker that doesn’t really search anything out. This timeline is my favorite.

As a big consumer of heavy stouts I enjoy that I have many local choices but can also get a CBS or KBS at any given time now.

That is kind of my point. 8 years ago it was a trade only situation. Now, that beer will sit on the shelves 1000 miles away and there are better local options. But the new whales that have taken its place, woah baby.

I still remember the time where I took off work on a Friday afternoon because q bar closeby got CBs for the first time in Massachusetts and sat there for 2+ hours drinking the whole bottle and then some. Walk home was quite the experience

I've still never had CBS. Back when I wanted it bad, I couldn't get it. Now that I can get it, I don't really give a shit because there are so many comparable options.

I believe, assuming a crowler is sealed on foam, they will last as long as any normal can. Obviously you don't want anything to sit too long, but theoretically you could go a few months. Of course, not every fill/seal is perfect, so sooner the better generally speaking I'm sure.

You have any in particular you like? They came into AZ a few months ago and I grab one every so often and they're all really solid.

I kept meaning to go to the brewery whenever I was in Minneapolis and it just never worked out. That and Dangerous Man were big misses on my part.

The only regular is Local 755 which is good. Other than that it’s typically 2 new IPAs every 2-3 weeks. They are always good and sometimes great. BlackStack and Lupulin are the two locals doing the most creative and consistently good work in my mind (available in stores... Dangerous man is great but out of my way these days).

thought that was great, i agree with Rabid that they're the best in the game for IPA's around here. i love Lupulin but haven't had much beyond their core stuff.

DDH All Caps and Double 755 in my fridge right now from Blackstack. The All Caps is one of my favorite IPAs is a long time.

Dangerous Man has slipped over the last year or two. Modist is pretty solidly ahead of them now.
