you and everyone else in the world. Supposedly the average dealer markup is still over a thousand dollars.
my business partner just got an SX nightfall edition. Took it to southern Oregon last week and it was really nice. Didn’t feel like a Kia.
We have a MB E-class wagon. It was a great purchase. If you don't have a zillion kids, it's even better. Our only issue is we have to use the jump seats a lot, so then you're using the roof rack for luggage on long trips.
Those are gorgeous, just looking for something a little bigger as my current car is a coupe and I will be keeping it.
Wrote this in another thread, was directed here. Already negotiated the lease for the wife but would love to know if this place exists. "Is there a place where you can go that people post what lease deal they got on a specific make/model and at said specific dealership? I think it would be a sweet/easy way to get the upper hand on some of these criminal dealers. Been looking through Reddit and the web, don’t see such a place. If there isn’t, there should be." Leased her a Santa Fe Limited for 3 yrs, 36k,3 yr maintenance/roadside/etc., tire protection plan, and waived termination fee if we dont go with Hyundai after the end of the lease. Car is a beauty, totally redesigned inside. Sticker was 42.5k on it. 1500*** down, 388 a month. Pretty sure I did well at the negotiating table. They have some great deals for vets, LEOs, teachers, college kids, but we didnt qualify :( Also got them to pay for her last month's payment on her current car. Would love to know how I did on it. It was fun.
edmunds has forums that people will post what lease deals they got. won’t be a specific dealership but I think will mention the state
https://leasehackr.com/ I used that forum + edmunds for the residual value/money factor. I just leased a new 2021 Chevy Blazer 2LT at 36/10K for $298 a month with only $730 down. MSRP was $37,330 with a sale price of $34,850. I had chevy supplier pricing + $1000 CCR that came with it, $1500 private GMF lease cash, and another $1000 Costco discount.
Will probably be buying a Telluride S AWD soon. Anyone have experience with buying online - specifically from out of state? Will dealerships coordinate with each other or do I want to avoid that entirely and work directly with the out of state dealer? Just not sure of the extra fees/taxes that could incur. I have been driving a 2006 Grand Cherokee since 2006 so this is all new to me. Google tells me to get preapproved through a credit union so that's what I'm planning. Also, the used models are basically the same price as the new ones. Can't find any real downgrades from 2020 to 2021 so I'm probably buying new.
Just go to leasehackr.com and look at the marketplace forum... deals already pre negotiated. https://www.the-mainboard.com/index...a-new-car-vehicle.177247/page-6#post-16289572
I researched and read a ton of posts on the Leasehackr website to learn their tricks. I am somewhat stuck in the Chevy family and they do not offer some of the hacks like other manufacturers - IE Multiple security deposits to buy down the money factor. Where you live also matters, TN is not a strong state for lease deals - FL, TX, CA, and the North East are the best areas to get a killer lease deal. Find the truck model and trim(s) you are interested in, create an Edmunds account, and post asking for the residual value and money factor. Most of the trims will have different values, you want the lowest MF and highest RV. Find dealer(s) that will not mark up the money factor. I contacted 20+ dealers within a 150 mile radius of me that had 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT Blazers and 10 of those were actively communicating and negotiating with me, all over email. I shopped near the end of December, which is the end of the month/quarter for GM. Dealers need to hit their quarterly goals to get another bonus from the manufacturer and dropping 1 vehicle down another 1-3% is a drop in the bucket for earning +3% on all of their sales. Use the Leasehackr calculator and post asking if what you have is a good deal. They have lease brokers and dealership employees on that website that will help you if you live in their state.
how'd you like this? Debating between this and a Jaguar F-pace. Feel like Volvo will be more reliable and lower maintenance costs.
Haven’t moved on it yet. We are looking for when we have a kid (next year or so). but i drove it and I loved it. Volvo over the jag for sure. Every stupid thing breaks on jags.
Went to put in an order for the new Bronco, and learned my reservation standing won't get me a 2021, so I'll be waiting to order a 22MY in June. Silver lining is new options and colors will be available.
Pulled the trigger on it today. Excited. Pre-Covid we did not drive cars much due to public transit. Felt like this had great value for the amenities in the interior and liked the way it drove. Hope it is reliable post-warranty.
Test drove a bronco sport this weekend for the wife and it was awesome. It’s a demo so they can’t sell it until 4000 miles, but she’ll probably get one eventually. I am waiting for a 2022 bronco for the reasons you mentioned.
the wife wants one. Her edge lease is up in June and just going to buy it out until bronco mania dies down. I’m surprised she wanted one but also happy because now we’ll have a bronco and my F150
Ford said that half of the current reservations will be fulfilled as 2022s. May as well get a reservation as it's only a $100 refundable fee. At least it gets you a spot in line.
I’ll wait on the bronco. The sport doesn’t have the same demand. I have first dibs on their demo but I’m not paying msrp for it with 4K miles. They have one with about same options coming in soon that isn’t a demo and stickers for less.
I just crossed 10k miles and bought it in August 2019. I’ve got a 50 mile round trip commute, so Covid has saved me quite a few miles.
Wait on new models. No reason to pay sticker or a premium while they work out kinks and prob come out with better packages/trims down the line.
I’ve wanted a 2 door bronco for years. I have no reason to buy one but I missed out on the special release one. I’ll probably still try and find one.
Dude, parts for that are probably worth it. Does it drive? Looks like it was beat/driven to death. That said, if you want to work on it, that'd be a cool car, and back then BMWs weren't the wrenching disaster they are today.
It's in pretty good shape for a salvage. Needs new hood, bumper, fender and bodywork. These E30 M3's will go for over $60k easily and are nearly impossible to find. The price will only continue to climb on them.
The big issue on this car isn’t the body that’s easy it’s the mechanical components that’s where it gets expensive to rebuild
I did some digging based on this picture alone (because it wasnt looking like a S14 engine), it already has a engine/trans swap with the S54 engine (2000-2006 M3 models) and looks to be in pretty ok shape. Looks like the took out the radiator though. These S54 engines are tits too @ 333 hp & 251 ft/lbs I have a N54 (335i twin turbo) BMW currently and do a lot of the work myself, so I'm pretty familiar with the costs. A VANOS fuck up will set you back a pretty penny with these S54 engines though.
Looks like an awesome project; good luck. Imagine being the guy who decided that those gold wheels were a good idea.
Yeah if you already know about those engines then you should be good. Seems like a swap that will be a pain in the ass though. I wonder what the wiring is like.
any info on the Bronco having an all-electric version down the line? Anticipating a car purchase in about 5 years, and I want electric but I also want a Bronco...
