I just got PCR tested as follow-up to the teacher's adult daughter saga. Teacher tested negative so I expect I'm negative as well.
They did two of them. Both were negative. If I feel the same tomorrow I might go to the stadium and get officially tested
My wife and I have couple friend that we are really close with. Actually, we are really close with the wife and we inherited him through their marriage. They are completely opposite in so many ways, including Covid. She has been super careful since covid started, has rarely left the house and taken all the precautions. He thinks it is stupid and so on and so forth. We were supposed to have dinner at our house about 2 weeks ago but a couple days prior, I saw him post on facebook about this super awesome shooting range that did not mandate masks and a pic of him with a bunch of guys, all mask-less. I immediately called my wife and informed her I was cancelling the dinner with the obvious reason why and I was going to say as much in our group text. Guess who came down with covid last week? You called it. And subsequently infected his wife. It was either the shooting range, his grandpa’s funeral where not a single person other than his wife was wearing a mask or any of the other numerous activities that he did. And to top it all off. He posted a facebook post saying it as his fault because “I had gotten lazy and forgot to pray” and he had the “China virus” that was “not even as bad as some of the colds” he has had. I am so infuriated on so many levels right now. End rant/
pperc if you are diagnosed with covid say today, what’s the latest on when you can be around others. Is it still 14 days assuming symptoms subside?
from positive test it's 10 days. from exposure to a positive person it's 14 days. both assume symptoms (mainly fever, cough) are gone for 48-72 hours prior to the end of that timeline.
No kids, but they have been teetering on divorce for the past 1-2 years. My wife and I have been trying to help/counsel them through this as we are really committed to our friendship with the wife and do believe in trying to work the marriage through if possible but this is the last straw for me and I think my wife is on the same page.
They almost certainly have to vote differently too based on your description, I can't imagine marrying my wife knowing she will vote completely different.
She has gone as far as unfollowing him on social media. He has gotten progressively worse since they started dating/gotten married. Lots of weird dynamics in play that are not the thrust of this thread so I won’t get in to them here. See my other quoted post. He has accelerated to the degree he is at with warp speed. He was somewhat normal, at least he presented himself as such, years ago when the relationship started.
After watching “Social Dilema” on Netflix a while back, this type of behavior makes so much more sense to me. I have a family member who was married in as well who is behaving extremely similarly to what you described.
Champ I'm in Canada now. Seems like Canada has their shit together. In BC they just issued you can't have more than 6 people gathering in your household now. And I saw they are sending all provinces shipments of rapid tests. Rapid tests that actually work. And they're also working on a vaccine that is made in Canada and will make over 70 million doses of it.
Welcome to your safe haven, please don’t party irresponsibly. How’d you get in by curiosity? But yeah, we’ve been pretty lucky. The opposition parties put a hold on the political games for the first few months of the pandemic to give everyone relief during the first lockdown, so that helped to get the first wave under control. Even our more conservative prime ministers have actually done their best to control the pandemic, so that’s given us a heads up on a lot of countries. Plus, being about a month behind Europe has forced the provinces to be a bit more aggressive in regards to prevention after seeing what’s happening overseas. Are you staying for a while?
Really sucks he didn’t get sicker than that. Two guys I grew up with act like this about it and I really wanted to go lick their toothbrushes while I was sick.
Wife is Canadian and we traveled together across the border to Vancouver where her family lives. So it was easy to get in because I'm considered immediate family to them. But right now we are currently doing the mandatory 14 day quarantine at her parents house. We're thinking of staying until December but can stay longer if need be if USA is too fucked to go back. Luckily both of us work from home.
Santa Cruz County moving from red to orange tier status. We'll see if any of the local school districts decide to do any kind of in-person instruction, knowing that Winter is Coming and things will probably get worse again My gym can go from 10% to 25% capacity! Talked to the manager a few weeks ago, he says that because of the square footage they can have 60 people in the building and call it 10% capacity (and people working out outside don't count against the 10% capacity). Even with classes, I've never seen more than 30 since they reopened. Now they can have 150, which they will never reach (and likely never reached even before covid).
I have a US based Canadian friend (dual citizenship) who was describing this to me when I asked if she'd be able to get home for the holidays.
Wisconsin reports new record of 64 deaths, over 5,000 new COVID-19 cases 31.7% US equivalent: 299,000 cases per day 3,636 deaths per day State equivalent: Florida having 19,413 Texas having 26,210 California having 35,709 Spoiler: Graphs
We do take this shit seriously. Apart from Watsonville (20% of the population and 60% of the cases) the county has done a very good job keeping cases down.
Wait wait wait what!? I work with comms professionals in this state and nobody mentioned this today lmao
