I got real giddy when i saw the picture of that card then i saw it was from flawless BR and i felt bad
I was up to 730 and I have lost 4 in a row in the most ridiculous fashion. I'm not mad though, like we talked about before I'd rather lose 15-14 ranked 500 game vs the dry hump 2-1. Also I absolutely cannot pick up Guidry to save my life. Just cannot time his ass and it's frustrating as hell. I can absolutely destroy Kluber now though, which is nice and the funny part is I say I can destroy him now but my lifetime BA against him is probably like .089.
Funny you say that, I've been using Guidry myself and I've had a lot of success with him. Didnt expect that with his pitch selection but I'll keep running him out there.
Weird, I was also on a nice 8 game winning streak (starting out from 450 having not played RS for a while) paused to finish up the events to get Gossage, and I lost a stupid Shippett game then got absolutely nuked playing the last couple of nights. Thought it was just a random slump but now wondering if the player pool is just thinning out such that Ws are going to be a lot tougher going forward.
Events give you awards based on wins with some other bullshit sprinkled in. They also have different criteria in terms of the players you can use, at the moment it's WS so only Dodgers and Rays. 30 wins is 99 Strasburg 40 wins 99 Will Clark 50 wins 99 Yanks Gossage That's the Gossage bwi2 was referencing in his post.
Curious to see what this Griffey week is about. No way I get to 300 stars or whatever but interested to see if it's 1 card or 3 versions of Griffey.
Yeah, took a bit of work, was easier early in as people were offering quits for boosts but pretty much no one has the last two rounds. Gossage is nasty though.
3 innings yeah, most times you can crank a game out in 10 minutes. Lot of times you hit an early homer or jump on someone and they quit. Lot of guys use it to Prestige players so for pitchers they will leave them in too long and will hang shit right down the middle or just walk you in. Or they will get their two IP in and just quit. This week kind of sucks because its HOF difficulty which can make for a tough time if you're not the best with PCI placement and timing. It's less contact and runs than normal difficulty which means people don't quit as fast.
What's the best way to prestige Mo? I need innings. I already have the K's. Need like 25-30 more innings though and that's a lot with a closer. I thought about just starting him for a couple of games, energy be damned.
Like 500k. Stub market is saturated. I’ve only thrown two innings with him so I’m hesitant to recommend you get 300k more to buy him - he’s probably about as good as Mo, but with the advantage of being new so that people aren’t as familiar with him. Best way to prestige Mo would have been this event until the Yankees lost.
You can get him for a paltry 520,000 stubs. Best way to Prestige Mo is through an event, but can't use him this week. New event starts next week and something about using smaller dudes. Not sure if he will be eligible or not.
How many people do we have that are active itt? 6-8? Would y'all want to try a much smaller league than before just for fun? Not inviting that World Series dude though. Sorry not sorry.
Yeah sure if we get enough people. If not, I'll play randomly, night time is rough for me of late as I am on like a 70 year old's sleep pattern of sleeping by 9 and up by 2-3AM.
Interested, but my schedule is about to change and not sure what that’s going to do to my ability to play.
Been having some good results starting my PCI inside and a little high. I’m able to cover the inner 2/3 of the plate pretty well this way, and have a chance to square up pretty much any pitch that I could hit out.
Also I’m done with grinding out veteran moments. Sticking to allstar & above has been huge, every time I do something on veteran it messes with my timing Scored a few runs to win an event vs a high prestige guy last night, didn’t realize til after that they’d upped the event to HOF.
dblplay1212 new event starts tomorrow, looks like Mo is eligible. edit never mind I don’t think Mariano is eligible.
Well shit. I think I'm just going to start him 2 times and pitch him to death with no energy and take 2 giant L's. Fuck it but I'll get the innings.
And man watching these YT guys, the pitches look sooooo slow for them. Could that be bc I'm playing on an older TV that has crazy high lag? About 3 weeks until we get into the new house and I'll be on the new TV so I guess we'll see.
trout unlocked new lineup: 99 L cobb 99 R trout 99 S mantle 99 R tatis 99 L thome 99 R wagner 97 L cano 99 R biggio
They messed up the update so as a make good there are four free postseason packs available to claim (AL and NL Wild Card, DS, CS) in packs. At worst, that’s 160 free TA points for next week’s TA4. Expires at midnight eastern so claim quickly. also, I think I’m in for a league dblplay1212 - using DD teams?
I think the 99 Jose Ramirez card is my favorite. I absolutely mash with him. I'm also completely useless with Tatis but every time I go to take him out of my lineup I hit a ball like 900 feet and it's enough to keep him in there.
I figured they were all part of a retired players association or something. Who gets the money for someone like Walter Johnson that died 75 years ago?
Jeter is in the HOF. Well he was voted in but the ceremony was pushed back. So idk if he's in or not.
Wait a lot of the former players in the game aren't HOF players. Mattingly for sure. And Papillion. Do they have a HOF deal for some players and then individual ones for others?
