thanks. I took 3 years of latin, I think. Very interested in hearing it depicted in a TV show. Do you know what episode they featured this?
i dont speak latin but it sounded like every episode when i watched it. basically most if not all the scenes with romans, which were a lot.
As an aside, my Latin teacher in high school had a doctorate in the language and could speak it. He was a super nice but weird dude. He also wore chain mail under his clothing.
So I'm one episode into La Revolution and figured it was a ho-hum French Revolution retelling...never really watched a trailer or read anything about it. There's some fuckery about. It's intriguing.
latin bro as well (3 years). SPQR they speak Latin in every episode. Really hope we get Augustus’s Quintili Vare, legiones redde quote if there’s a season 2
Not new at all, but I finished my list and was looking for something new and light hearted so I gave Cobra Kai a shot. I expected straight trash, relying solely on nostalgia to carry it, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. Hell, more than that, I like it a lot.
If you enjoy animated series at all, Blood of Zeus is definitely worth a watch. Also, only 8 episodes of 30 minutes each, so it's not as much of a time suck as some of the other Netflix shows.
I also took 4 years of Latin and had a super nice/weird teacher that could speak it. still the smartest dude I know. He’s only teaching Latin because he wants to. Guy got a 1500 on his sat and went to vandy. Has a doctorate and was also the person I went to for help with math homework because he explained it better than the math teachers
This describes the only Latin teacher I know. He was the turbo dork at elementary school that knew everything about NASA and dinosaurs. Once stayed in at recess to do a huge math problem on the board after we learned how to do long division
It appears to be. I’m through 3 eps and really like it. It’s a story that weaves itself into Greek mythology. I’m liking the story so far.
That’s awesome. My teacher was super nice too and would help you with anything. He got his doctorate at UNC and married a significantly more attractive woman than what I thought he could pull who also had a doctorate in Latin. He had memorized large portions of Caesar’s “The Gallic Wars” and forced us to memorize the prelude. Almost 20 years later and I can still quote it.
Mine does not have an attractive wife at all, but that’s ok. I was actually terrible at Latin. I could conjugate, but couldn’t remember the vocab for shit.
Animation does look very similar to Castlevania, and the plot involves demons. Basically, a race of demons were created were the Titans fell to the Gods, and the demi-god son of Zeus needs to lead the fight against their army.
I got a gold medal on the Latin II national exam. Missed one question out of 40. Still not sure how I did it. I was a low B student
my Latin teacher was probably one of the best teachers/people I ever had, at any level. The rest of the school hated him and thought he was the meanest teacher in school. He loved that. He called the guys who took Spanish or French losers. He loved us. we did the Ecce Romani books. We’d have vocab quizzes and grammar quizzes weekly. Vocab quizzes you could get a negative score of you missed all the words (you’d have to do all 4 versions) and macrons. Tests were all translations. by Latin 3, we were having to translate huge sections of Pliny or the Gaelic wars or some shit. he sat us in order of grades. Smart kids in the back and the bad ones in the front. Every quarter he’s shuffle and it was like a draft. I think even the kids with the best grades probably really had a C at best. He curved big time. everyone in the class would pretty much ace the national Latin exam, so his class was definitely much hard. guy was pretty funny. He went to Italy summer before my senior year and bought this super fancy bowl on the streets of Rome. Brought it to school and put in on his desk. Told everyone it was an ancient Roman artifact to smoke their “hash hish from the edge of the empire”
Her younger brother was a classmate. His party. She was the "hot teacher". Mighta had a couple drinks in her.

I just found out about it by seeing an Icelandic series was picked up there so I had no idea if any of y’all used it.
Actually just finished it. Thought it was ok. Tbh it left me wanting more. Some good looking ladies in it.
Wanted to watch queens Gambit, but going to save it. Started watching this instead. Was really lost after 1 episode. I'm through 3 and it has my attention However, there are a few shots of naked girls and I think they refer to them as 16, so
Fiance spoke to cricket taco man, Charles (?) for work a couple weeks back. Thought that was pretty cool.
