I just noticed your UCF dig in your profile. That can't possibly be it, right? jesus fucking christ man.
706kj this evening. Only six weeks in and seeing consistent gains now. Also, I wanted to pass on some useful math for estimating your total output(kJ) while on a ride. The formula for calculating total output is: Total output(kJ) = (avg watts x total seconds)/1000 Breaking this down a little bit allows you to come up with factors that you can multiply by your average watts mid-ride and figure out what pace you’re on. The numbers are as follows: 15 minute ride: Avg Watts x 0.9 = kJ 20 minute ride: Avg Watts x 1.2 = kJ 30 minute ride: ...1.8 45 minute ride: ...2.7 60 minute ride: ...3.6 So, for instance if you’re averaging 200 watts on a 60 minute ride you can use the factor of 3.6 and know you’re on pace for an output of 720kJ. I hope this is useful.
Anyone have a Tread? I am considering biting the bullet on the bike for my SO for her birthday/Christmas, but we both prefer running over biking. Obviously the tread is a bigger investment, but I think it may be worth it if we both prefer that activity. Don't know anyone who has one though and looking for testimonials. Mostly concerned with how it holds up, I feel like everyone I know with a treadmill it eventually breaks and they stop using it. If I'm shelling out big bucks for this one I want to know I'm not going to have issues with it.
Never actually used one but I've taken many bootcamp classes that are tread based using gym treadmills. It has a jump button that makes changing speed/elevation quicker. Also has a free mode where you are the only thing powering the tread causing greater resistance. The new tread plus also has a feature that will change your pace automatically with instructor if I remember correctly. Seems like a bad ass treadmill, but like I said I haven't used it person. Main take away for me is that the bootcamp catalogue is huge for tread. They just started offering bike bootcamps.
I don’t, but from what I understand the new Tread is a significant step down, simply because of the belt. The Tread+ (original Tread) has slats that are considerably more forgiving on your joints than the Tread’s traditional belt.
I don't run, but seeing the Tread+ in the showroom made me wish that I did. It's a damn good looking piece of equipment.

I’ve run on them a few times. They were great the times I’ve run on them obviously I can’t speak on how they hold up. If they are like the bike I can’t imagine them not being well built.
I haven’t worked out in 3 days so of course I jumped on the new Jess Simms 60 minute bootcamp. She is great.
Trying to figure out which instructors I like. Did a ride with Jess King this morning, she was so annoying.
Was all strapped in for Robin’s HIIT and hills yesterday, expecting death and it was....pretty easy? Girl is going soft.
As I have gotten better I have basically drifted away from her. I think Emma Lovewell, Ally Love and Kendall Toole do a much better job with more difficult rides.
she is pregnant so she might be taking it easy. Trying to decide if I should do Emma’s live classes today or Robin’s bootcamp.
You get quite a few perks, including a 300 refund for any travel. Renews each year. So really it is 250
Good to know. The $60 credit for the lesser one seems like a no brained. They are offering 80k miles too for 4K spending in first 3 months.
Last night, when I placed my order, the only delivery dates were the Wednesday or Saturday around thanksgiving. I had no other options. I’ll be outta town. So I thought I’d just check back in the morning to see if I could find something in December. I woke up and saw November 10 opened up. jumped on it
Finally ordered this as my bike should be here next week. Didnt think of this at the time, but does this come with the charger? I couldnt find that information on the website.
I haven’t taken all of them, but these are the good ones IMO: Emma, Dennis, Olivia, Kendal, Wilpers, Jess Sims What’s the benefit to this over the Peloton one? I know some people don’t like the chest band, but it’s never bothered me. And does anyone here use Whoop? I’m intrigued.
Peloton chest band worked great for me for like 6 months. Then the bike had issues recognizing it. Sometimes it would be ok to start and then cut out, sometimes it wouldn’t work until 5-7 min into the ride. Changed batteries and that would help for a few weeks and that’s it. Not a fan.
Everything I’ve read is that the data is neat but it’s just not enough to warrant the $30 monthly charge.
I’ve taken everyone and the only two I don’t like are Jenn and Christine. Honestly just take rides with as many as possible you’ll find who you like that way. Use whatever is “important” to you type and music and go from there.
$550 annual fee but the perks easily make it up. $300 travel or grocery credit, $60 in door dash credits, $120 for peloton, door dash and Lyft subscription, TSA Pre/global entry, priority pass for airports, tons of insurance and warranty protections, and great redemption options. I don’t think the reserve has referral codes.
I’ll prob get it soon I’m doing a remodel for the house in a month. I have an American Airlines CC now with a fee I’ll have to cancel or stop using
no. just need to have compatible clips. if you get someone’s referral you can get the shoes for basically free tho
Had this card for years. Pay it off every month and have $2,000 currently in cash back. We use it for spring break trip every year and discount travel when we book through chase.
here you guys go. Somehow you guys got lost. Should have taken a right at Albuquerque. https://www.the-mainboard.com/index...-a-beginners-guide-to-free-travel-faq.120589/
Got an email this morning from Peloton confirming my delivery is on schedule. Will be here Monday. Shoes arriving today, HR monitor coming Tuesday. Pretty excited to get started. Do you guys ride every day? Was wondering a typical schedule. With the recovery/short rides they have I’m going to try to at least do something daily.
I got mine a week ago and rode 5 days straight. Kind of burned me out. I plan on hopping on everyday, but I cut back and am going to build up to it.
i try and workout 6 days a week. 3-4 ride and lift type workouts 1 just ride, 1 recovery ride and one day of complete rest. My just ride day is like yesterday when I did a couple 15 minute rides and a couple stretching classes. It’s a short ride day but the classes are still somewhat taxing unlike the recovery day which is strictly for recovery so they are extremely light. I also make sure I do a cool down ride after strenuous workout and stretch almost every day. The massage gun I bought has also been a game changer. I needed to foam roll more often but hated it.
Lol when I first got mine I rode everyday and did like 4 classes a day. It was me trying to justify the money I was spending. I still ride a lot but I have learned to take it easy.
What massage gun do you have? There’s so many out there, and I’ve read mixed reviews on a lot of them.
