Voting Tuesday. In a smallish district so not too worried. Wife went to Amnicola today and took over an hour. They need to have a form that explains each amendment in layman's terms.

The particular police ammendment I asked about on the outside seemed to make it transparent between citizen arrest issues but I'm not involved enough to know if it just gives them less transparency

Our district is small (falling water area) and so the wife and I will be voting Tuesday. I normally look up a sample ballot before voting for the odd amendment questions but hadn’t this year. Thanks for the heads up.

my parents rented a house on Lake Chickamauga for the Wed-Sun of Thanksgiving, so we'll be there with them and my brother/SIL/4 yo niece. We'll be doing stuff together of course but the wife and I will get into the woods at least once. Any recs for best hiking in the area? tspa

Where on the lake? You can be an hour almost from Chatt on Chickamuaga. There are a ton of trails within an hour depending on what type you are looking for.

Reliance, TN is one of my favorite small towns in TN and it’s maybe an hour outside of Chattanooga. Cherokee National Forest and Hiwaseee River has tons of hiking

Cloud Canyon State Park (in Georgia) is very well kept and closer to Chatt

I think it's actually Cloudland Canyon State Park. They have an awesome frisbee golf course as well.

There's so much hiking to do in the area, you can't really go wrong. I like using the AllTrails app though. It's not failed me yet.

Yea, you're right. And +1 for All Trails especially if you head out to Reliance. Minimal cell reception.

I like all the trails around Prentice Cooper Forest especially around the river bends.

Just peeked at all trails and Snoopers Rock is #1 and rightfully so

Sorry, I'm not much help on this one. I don't get down there that often. About as far South I get on any regularity is the Cherohala Skyway which starts in Tellico Plains. It is a beautiful drive, but maybe a little further than you want to go. Sometime during this pandemic I did hike Conasauga Falls which is a little South of Tellico Plains. It's a pretty waterfall about 2.5 miles and a little steep.

I'll second the calls for Reliance, and if you're up for a little bit further, Tellico has some good hiking as well (Bald River Falls and the Tellico River Gorge).

Didn't make it to Reliance, but on Saturday we did the Laurel-Snow Trail to Laurel Falls in Dayton, and then on Sunday the Gee Creek Trail in the Cherokee Wilderness which was short but very remote (we were the only car at the trailhead/didn't see anyone else) and a nice scramble up the mountain. We also did the loop from Signal Point Park around to Rainbow Falls on Friday.

Nice that there was still a decent bit of fall color, and the weather was perfect. The drives on the backroads were really nice, but man you guys really love you some Trump.

Instead of visiting family this year my mom, wife, son, and I rented a AirBnb/Cabin in Chatt for a few days next week.

Best trails near Ruby Falls/Point Park?

There are a couple from Craven's House, one that goes to Sunset Rock and another that goes to Point Park. And if you're on the mountain, Lula Lake is a beautiful area to check out with a bunch of trails as well, but not right in the Point Park area, probably about a 15 minute drive from there.

Have appointment times already booked for the cavern (should only be our group) and the lookout mountain train(assuming that a Tuesday morning at 9am isn’t going to be very crowed).

Naked River for lunch one day is the only other for sure activity. Hoping to be outside for a majority of the trip. Weather should be awesome.

Skip Naked River and go to Charlies if you want BBQ and this is the reason you are going there.
Reflection Riding ties into the trail system mentioned at the Cravens House. Not sure of their schedule.
The Incline(assuming this is what you mean by train)dumps you out near Point park so you could do some hiking and then take it back down. Lula Lake is closed to the public most of the time.

If you’re up for a pretty short drive, Cloudland Canyon has some nice trails and a disc golf course.

Maybe 2. A few is possible though. Not in an area many tourists would go. I bought the best weed I had ever seen at the time right across the street at the car wash in high school.

More of an excuse to hit a brewery with the fam (BBQ + football stadium made it an easy sell). Hoping to hit up the other breweries downtown if only to grab stuff to go at some point.

Want to try and enjoy as much of the scenery as I can though, looking forward to the Incline.

Never been to Chatt but have randomly spent a few nights in Shelbyville and driving through the backroads of Tennessee is amazing. It is a damn beautiful state, excited to see more of it.

The AirBnb we have is actually on the same road and thinking about walking the pup down there this afternoon or tomorrow to check it out.

Is Read House a good hotel to stay at? Always take my girlfriend somewhere for her Bday and Chatt is a short drive. Seems like a good bit of hiking stuff we can do.

Read House is nice, but I'd probably stay at the Edwin if prices are similar. What dates are you looking at?

End of the month. Edwin about 30/night more. Not too bad. I know all of the restaurants I've been to are pretty far from the Edwin but I don't think we will be doing much of that on this trip anyway.

Edwin has a good restaurant and bar. Short walk across the bridge to North Chat with lots of eating and drinking options too. Honestly not sure what's open or regulations right now though.

Whitebird and Whiskey Thief are both fantastic and in the Edwin. The Read House is recently renovated. I haven't been in it recently nor eaten at Bridgeman's Chophouse but have heard good things

I think I saw something or read something about a whiskey bar inside of a Chattanooga hotel behind some (not very) secret door.

    Anyone confirm?

Read house is a good place. Edwin is better location for everything other than being about a 2 minute drive further from the better restaurant area.

There's a bar called Unknown Caller that's like a speakeasy with "secret" entrance. It's not in a hotel so you may be thinking of something different.
