Yes and yes. It wasnt amazing but like the first book in the new canon trilogy, it set up some really cool stuff. Hopefully this trilogy will follow through on those things unlike the last trilogy.
On the one hand, TROS was awful. On the other hand, these incels are an embarrassment to humanity. I am the enlightened both sides equally bad centrist of Star Wars fandom.
Star Wars fans--the hardcore read every book, know every wookiepedia entry, debate every change--are the worst. I have been a fan since 1995 so, just by osmosis I've picked up a lot of knowledge over the years, but the neckbeards who crank out 10,000 words in Wookiepedia about an extra that's on screen for three seconds in Attack of the Clones are really just an embarrassment to the human race.
Yeah, the irony of the disney trilogy is that all the things the fanbase hated happened in part because of the toxicity of the fanbase
They got their Disney+ subscriptions and will be firing up the Mando S2 premier at 3am eastern time like the good cucks they are
Hardcore Star Wars fans really kind of are the worst people on earth. Which is lame because Star Wars is fucking cool
I've read more EU books than 99% of the Star Wars fanbase. I will get into a deep discussion with a fellow nerd about some random star wars shit. There's a lot of the new trilogy that I really hated. The Star Wars IP needs a change of leadership. BUT EVERYTHING about that letter is the lamest shit ever. All of them need a kick to the face.
The difference between you and them is you have self awareness and a life beyond your love of Star Wars.
Mando S02E01 Spoiler Cob Vanth AND a Krayt Dragon?!?!? My inner EU superfan is excited. Those super fan nerds are probably dying of erotic asphyxiation. Krayt dragon is a reminder that Kenobi is a top 5 EU book Also - An appearance by the true hero of the SW Saga - R5
Spoiler I just have no idea why Rex would be on tatooine and it’s obvious that’s where boba last was I did notice that tuvan throat singing music kicked in when he appeared, so I’m curious to see what kind of character he is, maybe he’s a bit of bitter old Luke who may tutor Din
Spoiler Boba isn’t a Mandalorian though, just has the armor. I think it’s him, but I don’t like that it is
I don’t like this explanation. Never have. Spoiler We know Jango came from a Mandalorian world and that the Mandalorian that said Jango wasn’t a real Mandalorian was in the middle of political upheaval and likely to be dismissive of others. Also, Boba is the progenitor of Mandalorian armor and the model for that race’s actions for the entire franchise. It’s just weird retconning to take that away from him.
No Spoiler Boba wasn’t aged up like Rex. He aged up like a normal kid. Every depiction of him in Clone Wars is as a tween/teen obviously younger than Rex
Spoiler even if you accept that Jango was a Mandalorian, something he is supposedly not, Boba was predominately raised by others. At best, his biography is the reverse of Din
But it’s all silly because Spoiler Din carries himself just like Boba did in Empire and wears the same armor. Whether or not Boba is a Mandalorian by canon, he is THE Mandalorian in the world of Star Wars
Spoiler this reduces Din to “tough guy bounty hunter,” which I think goes strongly against how the show has tried to depict him. He’s nothing like Clone Wars Boba, and there is nothing in Clone Wars that attempted to make Boba into a Mandalorian, despite extensive treatment of both subjects. On the most superficial level, how often do we see Boba and Jango without their helmets? Clearly it’s the way they’re going, but the retcon is to make him a Mandalorian.
Spoiler I'm still thinking it could be Rex and that's how they make the connection to Ahsoka, who we know is in this season
No. Clone Wars is the retcon Spoiler The armor. The way they carry themselves. The fact that a lot of them became bounty hunters. ALL of that is because Boba Fett was a Mandalorian. The reason for everything we know about Mandalorians is the character of Boba Fett (who you also never saw without a helmet in Empire while you saw a ton of Mandalorians without helmets in Clone Wars and Rebels. Sabine hardly ever wore the thing in Rebels.) There is no Mandalore if there is no Boba Fett. It is doing him an injustice to strip him of that history after he created it. Unrelated m but I also didn’t like the way this episode changed what a Krayt dragon was. No way Revan could fit one of those pearls in a lightsaber.
Spoiler This discussion about who or what is a Mandalorian will probably be a central theme of the season and was already previewed with Sheriff Bullock wearing the armor. May provide some parallels for LBY (does he belong with his species or with Mando)
Yeah they should've just bought a billboard. Gets the point across better. But they're the ones who take shit way too seriously.
