Can’t remember if it’s Nashville Knight or Penguin The Duck that lives down the street from me (Cahal/Porter) but did you just hear those gun shots at the gas station next to the family dollar?
Believe that’s Nashville Knight I’m at the end of Eastland by Cornelia and can’t hear anything over the rain. Hope everyone is alright.
Nope, knock on wood as it's been pretty quiet over here on Straightway/Eastland Park since June. Your area seems to have a lot of activity as of late.
My girlfriend had an issue yesterday with a patient's family member refusing to wear a mask inside the ICU floor at Vandy. The exact words were " Trump doesn't have to wear a mask so why should I?" I am shocked that with the uptick in cases Vandy hasn't stopped visitors and slowed down elective surgeries again like they did earlier this year.
Pretty wild that one of the bigger churches in East, Church of the City, chose last Sunday to be the first time having in-person services since March not great timing
Nashville.gov's website shows early voting participation so far in the city. Here's a screengrab from today: The total number of votes in the 2016 election was 252,926 out of a registered 408,343 voters for reference.
I jinxed myself..a guy was stopping to drop off his kid(s) and was shot at by someone in another car. Hopefully, he was targeted and wasn't a random shooting. I think the kid was ok, but the guy was taken off in an ambulance. https://video.nest.com/clip/02eca06141784ce580f4fc3376cecfa5.mp4
Acme temporarily closing till Nov 16th. Says due to the city's lax efforts at enforcing mandated and not punishing rule breakers. Sounds about right.
By the closing of polls tonight, Nashville will be just shy of 50% registered voter participation. Approximately 60% of registered voters participated in the 2016 election. And we're only about 30k votes shy of matching the 2016 election numbers before counting mail-in ballots, election day, and the final early voting numbers from today. Pretty neat.
I’m in desperate need of another vice, so what app is everyone using for sports gambling starting tomorrow?
They don’t allow teasers on nfl, which sucks. My friend uses it and doesn’t dislike it. Can’t speak for the slickness of the app. Honestly I’d use all of them for their promos and stick with one
COVID testing question: what are the best methods to get tested since community centers are closed today? urgent care + health insurance? Publix pharmacy + health insurance? Trying to travel on Thursday and need results back under 48 hours.
Like Capstone said, you need somewhere that has the rapid tests. No guarantee the traditional test gets your results back in time.
East Nashville Family Medicine was during curbside appointments and I think was only $40 if not covered under insurance. And it's next to Yeast or Joyland.. The airport security is hit or miss at BNA if you don't have TSA Pre. TSA Pre hasn't had lines since covid. If you're flying Southwest or American, there's nothing really open at terminal D yet. Safe travels!

Damn TDS has been out since like 330 today. We've went forever without any major problems from them and now twice in a month they've had mass outages that lasted multiple hours.
Love the first snow of winter. If anyone has a dog and is near downtown, I highly recommend the one next to Capitol View. Good size, astroturf and wasn’t that busy this weekend. We were going to the fairgrounds dog park the last couple months but Capitol View is so much closer from East.
Does anyone know someone that works at a Chevy or GMC dealer in sales anywhere in Middle TN? Looking to turn in my current lease (4 months left) and lease a 2020 potentially before 1/4/2021. Figured it would be nice to give someone credit vs a Joe Schmoe at a random dealer.
Hello boys - may be getting transferred to Nashvegas for work. Where should I look to live? Will have a budget of 1500-2500 per month. Want to rent to start. Thanks in advance!
Will you drive to your office now or post COVID? Traffic sucks so recommendations will be based on where you work.
Looking for a house or an apartment? Single, married, kids? I'm partial to Germantown and East Nashville but it all depends on your living situation and your work commute. You'll find apartments, and maybe a rental house for your budget in Germantown. You'll find a wide variety of houses in East on that budget, but there are a lot of areas to avoid. Lots of inventory will be popping up in the coming months with short term rentals converting back to long term.
Live downtown-ish, Germantown, gulch, midtown, sobro, etc. My boss suggested I live downtown when I first moved here in 2014 and it was a great decision. I had a lot of fun before Broadway became the beast that it is today.
I'd check out the apartments available on 8th Ave south of Wedgewood. They've built a ton of new ones in the past few years. Was probably my favorite area to live in while single. Not a lot of tourist spots but decent selection of bars and restaurants. I also worked in the Gulch while living there and it was 15 min in rush hour and about 8 min any other time of day. Happy to answer any other questions about the neighborhood.
If you really want to be into the action, tourist traps included, then Gulch and Mid-town is where it's at. Otherwise pretty much what's above. Lots of young professionals in Germantown, and some of the best restaurants in town. But a ton of construction and possible inventory issues due to some of the apartments being condemned from this years tornado.
You guys are awesome. Obviously would like to be near cool stuff but I'd also like to find a townhouse-ish with a deck and/or small outdoor area I could grill or just chill out.
