there has to be enough to reach the 270 threshold. Unfortunately, it’s not there yet. I forget what the number is currently.
I thought I saw somewhere it was 15 that would commit to it but no idea what number of EC votes that made up. I may be making that number up entirely.
In a pretty surprising turn Mississippi overwhelmingly approved a citizen led initiative for an extremely liberal medical marijuana program. This initiative puts medical marijuana in the state constitution and comes despite a poison pill initiative inserted by the legislature that everyone thought was almost certain to kill the citizen led initiative.
Also passed a measure to kill the Jim Crow era electoral college type provisions we use for statewide elections. We will now use a popular vote and runoff system.
So, there's still a ton of mail-in votes to be counted, but it'll barely get Joe to 270. Come onnnnnnn. America is the worst. People voting just for the economy (who cares about COVID, right?) and jus to spite the left/media.
Dems won't go after Trump, but I have high hopes the NY AG will go hard after the kids. Seeing them perp walked out of a property being foreclosed on is my wet dream.
democrats do a spectacularly terrible job recruiting to the lowest common denominator. It makes their message seem elitist and aloof.
America is entitled, arrogant, fat, stupid, racist, and most think they are better off than they really are. it is no wonder that they love trump
IIRC the economy went south and he raised taxes (he'd previously said he wouldn't), it was a pretty stunning turnaround from the end of the Gulf War when his reelection looked like a sure thing.
Perot took a lot of votes that would have gone to him. He also checked his watch during a debate, as if he had someplace else to be, and generally seemed like he didn't relate to people's recession pain.
On the Gulf War PBS Frontline documentary they mentioned a popular bumper sticker during the campaign read "Saddam still has his job, do you?"
