Thank you, gents. I tried googling this on the announcement day, but couldn't find anything. Guess I should've checked again.
Spigen Rugged Armor. I have the Spigen Neo Hybrid now and it's basically the same thing. https://www.spigen.com/collections/pixel-5/products/pixel-5-case-rugged-armor?variant=32618461724719
Have not. Briefly looked at them but didn't see the lifetime guarantee/replacement policy so I went with Zagg.
What is the best android.phome currently? 2xl is grtting slow and full on storage and has a cracked screen.
purists would say the Pixel 4 or 5. A spec enthusiast sparing no expense would say one of the ultra/plus variants of Galaxy S/Note series, or the One Plus 8 Pro.
very true. I should have elucidated and said this: The Pixel 4 XL, Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a (5G), or Pixel 5, and definitely not the (regular) Pixel 4.
best specs is the top end oneplus, oneplus 8 pro i think? best camera is pixel 5 either one is good, i use camera a ton so 5 would be my choice
Mine has been a mess for about 2 months. Just not reliable and have to restart it constantly. Might just be mine. But I've never liked it. 3XL was my favorite phone. Need my Pixel 5 to show up soon before I switch to iPhone.
Welp. Decided to order a Pixel 5. Now the wait til fucking mid November game is on. Lol Have a 4XL which I've had no issues other than the glass backing separating slightly which seems to be one that's going around. But no other issues. Have a One Plus 7T Pro Mclaren. Great phone, very similar to stock android. Very fast, great screen amazing specs. But for whatever reason I always go back to my 4xl and idk why other than it's gotta be software and not hardware for me. So I'm going to give Google a chance with the 5 and the mid range game.
Oh and grabbed some pixel buds as well. Had the originals and man were those a fucking mess. Hopefully these are better. Love the pixel stands but I bought 2 when they came out with the 3XL and they didn't last more than a year before they stopped working.
Good first day with the Pixel 5. Getting use to a smaller phone compared to the 4XL. Fits great in hand. Also I love having the finger print scanner back.
Weird having such a smaller and lighter phone (from 2XL). So much easier but almost feels like a toy/cheap b/c I'm used to having a brick. Haven't done much with it yet but it is a snappy lil machine so far.
reading reddit, many users are not complimentary of the p5 when comparing to the phone they are upgrading from. Still undecided. Rumours of only $50 off on Black Friday aren't helpful for persuading me to the newer phone.
Unlocked pixel 5 showed up today. I need a 5g vzw sim card to access their 5g. Not an issue for now because there's no 5G here
I randomly have to restart my 4a because I cannot make/receive calls or texts. A restart fixes. Seems to happen around once a week. Anyone else had issues? Carrier is Straight Talk via AT&T.
If it becomes an issue you can just go to the Verizon store nearest you and then you'll give you one.
I've had issues with getting notifications, specifically from GroupMe. No text/call issues that I'm aware of. Maybe adaptive battery is the culprit?
Could very well be it. I *think* I turned it off in my troubleshooting, but I did a lot of things and now notifications work so I'm not sure exactly what fixed it.
Idk. Basically anything that connected to the internet worked. But if it was strictly related to my number it didn't. I would dial out and the call would just end with no ringing, my wife would call me and it would go straight to voicemail. She could msg me and call me on whatsapp, duo, hangouts etc.
yes, that's a very good and cool old school trick. But for pc or mac CloudApp free screen recorder is the best I guess.
Go into the notification settings for each app and make sure everything looks correct and you're allowing all notifications.
So I ended up cancelling my Pixel 5 order when I realized I could just walk into best buy and grab one on release day. Finally went and grabbed it yesterday. So I've only used it for a day now and coming from a Pixel 4XL. Personally I've had no issues of any kind with this phone. I really enjoy the size and I typically always go for the larger screens. But I'm constantly on the go for work and the one handed usability is fantastic. I also am a no case guy so the feel of this phone not being glass and with the resin coating works great for me. First phone I haven't wanted to put a skin or something on the back.
Also new phone quickness but I haven't noticed any lag or slow downs with this chip compared to my 4XL or One Plus 7T Pro Mclaren other than the photo processing.
Everything is correct. It didn't become an issue until I updated to Android 11. Also, SiriusXM app still crashing within 5 minutes.
Really loving mine. Coming from 2XL it's so nice having the same size screen on such a smaller, lighter phone.
Hmm you can go into developer settings and turn on adaptive notification priority and ranking and see if that may help push them through. Also in developer settings you check app standby and make sure that the app isn't getting put in standby mode for any reason. Because you get notifications from it the app should be set to rare.
Yeah the fact that the screen is flat and has tiny bezels make the screen size very slightly smaller than the 4XL so I feel like I lost nothing.
Pixel 5 bros. The usb-c connection on my 4XL was crapping out and I RMA'D it and they sent me a return which started doing the same thing after a couple of months. I've switched cars(rental) and cables and it's doing the same thing and android auto can't stay connected. Driving me bonkers. Any reason to not get pixel 5? Hoping I can cash in on a black friday deal.
Is it still considered to have a "big" screen? I looked at the specs and thought about getting it but didn't want a smaller phone
Pixel 2 XL - 157.9 x 76.7 x 7.9 mm (6.22 x 3.02 x 0.31 in) Weight 175 g (6.17 oz) Screen: 6.0 inches, 92.6 cm2 (~76.4% screen-to-body ratio) Pixel 5 - 144.7 x 70.4 x 8 mm (5.70 x 2.77 x 0.31 in) Weight 151 g (5.33 oz) Screen: 6.0 inches, 87.6 cm2 (~85.9% screen-to-body ratio)
If anyone looking for a reason to upgrade to the Pixel 4a 5G and needs a deal, Google has significantly improved their trade-in prices on old phones. I killed my Pixel 4 after only 9 months with a water incident, been using my old Pixel 2. Now the screen is cracked and the battery barely charges because the USB C port is shit. Google is giving me $225 for what is essentially about to be a brick phone. https://slickdeals.net/f/14622280-p...redit-500-free-shipping?src=SiteSearchV2Algo1
I'm about to do this. Seems like a damn good deal for those with the 2xl. Mine's still working fine, but why the heck not
