It’s also silly for her to talk about “dire professional consequences.” She’s got generational wealth. She’s set. She’s going to remain a powerful and influential woman for as long as she draws breath.
Exactly, she could invest half of what people say she's worth on the low end and live on millions a year for the rest of her life even if every other penny of income she has went away. Latrell Sprewell "my family is starving" levels of being out of touch.
That twitter profile that tweeted it was very misleading. I had been sent it by a friend and immediately went looking for more info
So it's like KOTOR but set in 1800s wizard world? I'm guessing you pick your character/house at the beginning and go from there.
The hippogriff flying scene looked next gen. Then a second later the player was gobbled up by a wall with ps1 graphics.
Im glad I only read these books a few years ago and dont have the ingrained affinity towards HP since childhood. Because the recent stuff w JKR and the movies being meh would be harder to take.
It's heartbreaking for me. Read them with my daughter. She had a HP themed sleepover for a birthday. Had floating candles and all that shit.
This is a nerdy take and I’ve admitted this before but the real depth of this franchise is now in fan fiction. Fuck JKR and the movies have always been tenuously connected to the books, missing many intricacies (limited screen time) but then stuffing in extra bullshit scenes. Better writers have dabbled in the wizarding world and made better stories.
There’s so much content that you can choose your flavor. If you’re talking slash (gay content), that’s dominated by Draco/Harry. I’d say there is a very strong trend in Ron/Weasley-bashing and Dumbledore-bashing, with Harry usually going independent and maybe even gray or dark. But yeah, you could find a fic for every pairing with Harry, or even no romance (which can often be better content since the tension in the story is more plot driven rather than interpersonal miscommunication).
Went to a Harry Potter pop up bar thing last night in Houston it was awful $30 cover, like 250 people, and terrible drinks
I’ve been to two pop up bars. One for the Office and one for Saved by the Bell Both were really expensive, had amazing decorations, but terrible everything else.
There are so many terribly written fics, great premises that the author abandons, canon retreading stories that are so predictably boring, power-wank/overpowered and out of character Harry stories, and way too much harem-master Harry fantasy smut. But still some cool shit.
Yeah I'm not into any HP fan fiction. The books will forever be awesome. Movies are nice time killers on a boring weekend but never measured up to the books, like every book to movie adaption. If they ever got an HBO or BBC tv show treatment I would be all over it. The Fantastic Beast series started fun but the last movie was woof. Not sure why they didn't just recast Grindelwald after the first movie since he was in one scene. If the series even continues there will be such a gap between films 2 and 3 I don't really think it's that big of a deal. Characters have been recast before and franchises still went on. See: the HP movies with Dumbledore. Nothing HP related has ever come close to being as good as the books because the books are soo ridiculously good (besides HP world which is awesome). JK as a person can't ever take away my liking for the book series.
And I think im still the only person playing this Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery phone game. Been grinding this shit for 2.5 years
Yes that I am interested in. This fucking game is just a grind. Im all the way caught up, and they only release a new chapter every week or so. Still in fucking Year 6.
Tell me not to play this phone game. Unless it’s awesome and you’re not just continuing to play it out of spite.
The new video game does look really cool. I've just been let down in the past by so many HP video games so I can't let my hopes get too high. Will still end up buying it and probably have lots of fun getting high and wondering around doing spells/playing quidditch.
