The amount of ticks I’ve found on myself and my dog the past week has been astounding. Even found one on my cat, who is never outside. Luckily none have bit me.
I’ve always been amazed at crocodiles and alligators. The way they need just a few inches of depth to hide has blown my mind. We have about a 9-10ft gator that’s been hanging out in our lake behind the house. When I’m on the trail running and he’s sunning on the bank a few feet away I pause and admire him for a little bit.
It is. I see him coming on the trail but there’s still that moment when you get by him that the adrenaline kicks in.
Please tell me someone has those old dblplay1212 memes from the early days. Shit it may have been from the Rivals board.
This sequence reminds me of Rick James laying on Eddie Murphy's suede couch, followed by Charlie Murphy beating Rick's legs.
I spend approximately 30% of my free time watching videos about alligators and crocodiles. Probably another 20% dedicated to snakes and 10% sharks. Yesterday I spent a solid two hours watching videos of wildebeests and other animals trying to avoid crocs while attempting to pass through the Mara Crossing in Kenya.
Will say again for the millionth time, so happy I don’t have to worry about that kind of shit when I roll out of bed. I mean fuck, kitty didn’t even let them stretch their legs first. That is how you tear a muscle!
“Hey, guys, 2020 is finally over. Wasn’t it the worst? But it’s 2021 now! New year, new us. Time to come out and enjoy better days!”
Praying mantis, on page 52, is the first entry itt that's got me thinking "yeah, I could probably hold my own against that"
Spoiler An Eden's whale trap feeding in the Gulf of Thailand. This extraordinary behaviour (where the whale treads water) is thought to have developed because pollution has made the Gulf of Thailand a hypoxic environment. Sewage outflows from the land have caused all the oxygen in the water to be used up , except at the surface. This means the whale's fish prey can only live in this surface layer. By treading water and keeping the corners of their mouth below the surface, a flow is created pulling the fish into the whale's mouth. In the panic, some of the fish also seem to jump out the water and into the whale's mouth.
