Herd immunity seems nearly impossible to achieve without a vaccine. You do a million cases a week for a whole year and that's not even 20% of the population

Yeah the UK's initial plan was herd immunity but they threw it out very early on when the picture the math painted was bleak
One thing I read said we might not get back to normal anytime soon even after wide distribution of a vaccine because like half the country said they wouldn't take it.

I hope many of the bigger businesses and obviously schools follow Ticketmaster's lead of needing to have proof of the vaccine or a negative COVID test within 48 hours to be able to enter. Ostracize as many of these fuckers as possible that refuse the vaccine.

As people begin to get vaccinated and dont have negative reactions I imagine more people will be willing to hop in line Really hoping my covid truther aunt has to get it through work for having to hear about bill gates chipping us
I don't care about normal. I care about dodging this virus. Me and mine are first in line for the vaccine. Those who refuse to take it and suffer the consequences are not of my concern, even though it will likely include relatives and friends.
One really interesting, well possibly worrisome, is that the two mRNA vaccines seem to be many trial participants chills and a mild fever, especially after the second dose. My bet is that is going to likely cause a lot of anti-vaxxers and COVID truthers to start screaming how it's not safe.
With any vaccine, particularly a brand new one to your body, sure but you usually only see it in little kids. These are completely new kinds of vaccines as well and may give the body a much much stronger immune response than any other thing we've developed before, they leverage your own body to translate the gene and generate the spike protein.
Our county is taking the normal Thanksgiving break (all week long) plus an additional week to see if cases spike over the holiday. I have always felt we should take off from the first day of Thanksgiving break ( November 23rd) until the last day of Christmas break (January 5th). I mean, we have the remote infrastructure set up (all children in our county have iPads provided by the county) and have improved and streamlined things since March. Hopefully cases miraculously drop, but I've noticed a disturbing pattern with the US and this pandemic : it's always worse than we thought it would be. Idk why this winter would be any different
