Oh ok. I’ve never played it. Trying to avoid spoilers. I’ll get it one day. Still early on in Origins. Have Odyssey next.
Movie had some potential but was somehow boring I’m extremely skeptical panda at this but Netflix is at least good about not compromising creatives’ vision. If they’re going to use protagonist from the games, then Ezio, Connor or Edward pls, and limit Desmond / current time as much as humanly possible.
Each season a different game/time period would be pretty cool. Or switch it up after a couple seasons. Edward is a must.
T-Mobile has a Tuesday deal, if you guys have the service. Picked it up from Ubisoft with free shipping and $10 off cost. $53 and change. Not much but figured I’d mention it. edit: for PS, Xbox and PC, not Switch
I bought it off the epic game store and it's prompting me for an activation code without sending me one. Going great.
Anyone but any of the premium versions. Don’t care about the special packs but prepaying for additional content is nice.
First time I’ve ever gotten the top version but I have an affinity for the Berserker, so I had to do it
Anyone playing on XBone or PS4? Seeing some reports that it plays kinda sloppy on the older consoles because it's optimized for the newer ones. Have it downloaded but may honestly wait to start playing until I upgrade.
Valahalla seems incredibly well optimized for pc. I’m able to consistently run over 70fps on max settings at 1440p
I’m still super early but it feels like Odyssey played in the third region of the Witcher. Hope it proves me wrong in the coming hours.
Really getting annoyed at trying to find a cave entrance for some loot, only to find out I'm not far enough into the story.
Is there loot in this game? I’m unimpressed with character progression so far (I have power level 23)
I read the weapons and armor are really limited. It’s better to upgrade than think about acquiring something better.
guessing this was the cave under the waterfall after you kill Mr. Stole my family’s honor. I wasted a lot of time there too
So I went to England, died attacking the English in ragnarsson’s camp and when I respawn the mission doesn’t seem to restart
They are but it’s accurate. Weapons there are only so many that Vikings used and at least from what I know from the culture the limited armor makes sense too. Clan and family. #buylocal. Etc. I like the set perks for Raven and decided to go all in there. Did the same with Dads axe and the MFing Morningstar. Upgrade all with 1st ingot and max upgraded their stats ~4 levels I think. Love the Morningstar and Axe dual wield. The weak-hand speed chop + Morningstar combos wreck large group battles. Head Stomp, Running Uppercut, and Chain Assassination perks are my favorite so far. They’re all bad ass but they make the fighting not as redundant (kill most grunts with one combo or 1 hit in the back) and more in line with how fight with non-monstrous Vikings should be... basing this entirely on the TV show Vikings which I love. Was originally gonna go full Rollo with a double hand axe but that’s actually the only weapon I tried and didn’t like. Got a small chub when Sigurd first said we were going to meet sons of Ragnar lothbrook. Except Sigurd “snake in the eye” was supposed to be Ragnars middle son between Ubbe and Ivar. They did a good job with Ivvar in the game so far.
Did you see my badass picture from the top of the waterfall??? Jk not even sure who can see those and how it’s determined. I’ve seen a couple pretty tight screenshots and a couple like dude how high were you to screenshot that basic ass road
Really enjoying the game. Just unlocked England and did a few raids to work on the settlement. Used a two-handed spear for a little bit, that was pretty bad ass, but gonna go back to an axe and shield (until I find a good 2nd weapon). I do wish we could break down/sell stuff. There’s armors and weapons I’ll probably never use/bother upgrading.
Let me tell you a quick story of my first night playing this game - Saturday. From between 12-2am very drunk and medium stoned. Sunday morning I get up and continue game. My ship was beached on some shallow rocks in a creek can’t put up sail. Guys are rowing in place. I get them to catch traction somehow and boat turns and moves about 2 boat lengths. Small celebration. Gets stuck again somehow in what looked like open water at that point. Gave up after ~20min and looked at past saves to load. Last one: 2:08am the night before. I go back to one 10 minutes before that ~2 saves down. Still stuck. 2-3 more saves down: 1:45am - still fucking beached. I had to go back to 1:18am to get a save before the SS Eivar crashed. My drunk and high ass sat there wiggling a boat around for almost an hour. craziest part about it is after replaying and getting to my home country I was like damn where was it I got stuck? I have no idea where in the fuck it was. I can’t find it on the map. be careful at seas boys. The Old country is full of mystery and lore and the Bermuda Triangle is very real
