Kinda disappointed that it doesn't seem like you'll be able to buy it exactly like the concept was but whatever. Will just be an extra expense to move from 33's to 37's right after taking it off the lot. Happy with the doors and back window carrying over. Sounds like the bronze accents are on all of them though. Not really a fan of that. They don't work with all colors. Guess we'll see when the pre-orders go up.
Cant get those numbers with 37's Half doors are nice but about $1500 per pair, unpainted, last I saw.
Ahh true. They could have given performance numbers on 33's and made 35's and 37's an option. Maybe they will.
Ok need some help from the experts. Mother in law has a 2006 TJ Unlimited that she almost never drives. She has a 2020 GC Trailhawk as her daily and notes the obvious power difference between the two. What’s the best place to look for bolt on parts to increase the power output on the old 4.0 inline six?
It's tough. There's a Trail Jammer kit that helped mine a lot but it's still nowhere close to my GC. It's an intake, throttle body, and chip. I have it and think it was worth the money. There's also a supercharger for it that seems pretty wild but it's about 5k installed and I haven't done it yet.
Can you bolt everything on yourself? My understanding is that the TJ’s were the last of the “simple” Jeep’s.
I think so. My local shop installed it when I did loft and tires so I can't say for sure. It's been a while and there seems to be a few versions out there now. Edge was the company that made mine but it seems like Superchips makes one now too. They may own Edge, idk. https://www.google.com/amp/s/thejee...87514-2005-2006-tj-wrangler-trail-jammer-ext/
No clue. I haven't looked at LJ pricing in years. I'd love a Saharicon though. Think they made 1k of them in 05 for the movie.
Daaaamn super jealous. Are they doing an add on? There's a shop here with one but they are asking $30k over retail. I want one but lol at paying $110k for a Jeep. I'll just wait until they come down. I did call one dealer in SC and they have one coming soon and they are asking retail so I guess it's just up to the dealer and the ones here are dumb.
Simon Templar what color did you do? The bronze accents make it tough for me. Been looking at the gun metal color they used on the concept or a white one. I wish they offered an interior other than black. Would love to do the concept color then switch out tk red leather sears like it had.
Switching leather color isn’t all that expensive aftermarket. You can keep the original leather as well if you want to for when you sell down the road. If you custom order you can get any color of leather you want from the dealer when you order the jeep or at least you can on normal wranglers.
Went with white for the color. Actually had been to a couple dealers in the area and some were over and others were at MSRP. It’s just a third car so I didn’t want to go over. We ended up going through Costco to get the dealer through their program and ended up getting a nice chunk of money off after they built it to MSRP. Apparently this is the only dealer in the Costco program for the states of Illinois, Iowa and Kansas they said. They use it to drive additional business with no marketing so it’s worth it to them to take the business as it’s so easy or at least that’s what they said. All in all it was about 10% off what the Jeep Wrangler Builder price was that we did on line before taxes, fees, etc. Super good deal and all they needed was a picture of my Costco card.
Wooow wtf. 10% lower than the builder on a 392? How did you even go about that? I didn't know Costco had a car program. I wonder if they could deliver one to me in FL lol
So I went through the builder to get everything the way I wanted. Didn’t want to bullshit when I went in just hand them the pdf. we had a success with the Costco refi program a while back and my wife was like why don’t we see what they do here. You just go into the member site and say you want this manufacturer dealer to call you. I told the gal at the dealer what I wanted and she said just to come in. Only like 20 miles away. Went in and gave the dude the pdf from the builder print out. he built it our and was like check and make sure. All good. Another dude came over and said so Bob isn’t able to do Costco but I can. If you want I can print it all out or we can just let you know the Costco price. Just let me know. I thought it was gonna be like $1k off or some shit but hell money off is money off. Turns it over and it’s almost 10%. I actually couldn’t believe it. He told me that the only thing they did to raise prices at that dealer was remove the factory incentives when Chrysler killed them so they go at MSRP and then this drives it down. I just don’t think people know about it but it was easy, hassle free and a huge savings.
I should add for the refi we had to move up a membership level or something for free closing costs or some shit but they said here all levels of membership got the same deal.
Damn I'll give it a shot. Building the 392 is so simple bc there's almost no options lol. Pick your top and decide if you want half doors too and that's about it. Little stuff like trailer package but that's it. It's basically 78k or 82k depending on the half doors so 10% is a large chunk.
Yea no doubt. I've been holding off bc I want to see what the regular size new GC looks like bc I already have one Wrangler and like having a true SUV but a 392 in the low 70s might be too good to pass up.
Yeah. We needed a third car with lil man getting ready to start to learn to drive. My car is a fleet so only my wife and I can drive it, she doesn’t want him driving hers so this was what we figured he could learn mainly on and then we will probably just let it be primarily his car when he turns 16.
Ha I know. We're in the same boat and I plan on spoiling her too. I tell her all the time that I need her life.
Putting a 16 yo behind the wheel of a 392. You are just begging to be turned into grandparents before he finishes high school.
dblplay1212 did you go to the locate a dealer page? I can’t find the guys name but we went to the locate dealer. Like I said they may only have one dealer that covers several states. https://www.costcoauto.com/new_cars/locate_dealer/default.aspx
Gotcha. The one here is this one I don’t know the guys name and can’t find it. https://www.riverfrontchryslerjeep....ge-jeep-ram-north-aurora-il/?cy=60542&tp=new/
Does anyone have experience dealing with the powertrain warranty through Jeep? I bought a 2018 Sahara JK Unlimited about 5 months back but not from a Jeep dealership, still under warranty. Dealership bought it on a trade-in so I was able to negotiate a great deal on it. Only had 22k miles. It started popping out of 4th and reverse randomly after I bought it but the original dealership couldn't do anything to help. I believe it's a synchro issue and I just talked to a Jeep dealership about it as the frequency has increased. I'm dropping it off on Monday for them to take look and they said it should be covered under the powertrain warranty. Should I expect any surprises or out-of-pocket costs?
I think it'll vary dealership to dealership. I heard of people having no issues with big warranty stuff and then heard about people having to contact corporate.
Thank you, the service dept made it sound like it was not going to be a big deal as it's still under the jeep 36m/36k warranty. My 36m comes up in Sept so I need to get it done now.
Not drivetrain but ran into an issue with the leather dash wrinkling near the front window bc the glue was giving out. It was a few months out of warranty. I posted on a Jeep board asking if anyone else had that issue. I got a DM from a Jeep rep, asked me to send him the info and pics, and he set me up with a dealer and Jeep covered it to be completely replaced. I was shocked at the level of service.
Good looks, I have been looking around on the jk forums and found some good info as well. I appreciate it. I'll see what the dealer says after I drop it off and go from there.
