Well that was a nice surprise. I ordered the bike Sunday night. It said earliest delivery would be Dec. 11. Just got a text that they had earlier delivery available and I'll be getting it Monday now.
God damn. This thread sure has seen a lot of new purchases in the last few months. I'm buying more stock.
did a sessions with my brother in law last week. It was fun, they still got some kinks to work out with the camera/audio when you’re riding with someone you know.
Wondering if you and PianoMan were Bike or Bike+ purchasers...? They're making headway on shortening lead-times for the original Bike, but the Bike+ is going to be a long wait for the next six months or more. Also, for those wondering about the new Tread, it's going on sale in FL, OR, IL, TX, and NY on Feb 9th and nationwide on Mar 30th.
I did a 30 minute 8.9 Kendall ride and nearly died. Not ready for that difficulty. but the booty was nice
Do Kendall’s horror movie ride. It’s not terribly hard, and it’s incredibly cheesy, but she looks so good.
Update. Those of you that short sold are fucked. After five glasses of wine and two cigs the guilt overcame me and the I did a 20 min/6 min cool down with west coast bae and a 10 min yoga. Still feel guilty but better. Riding after a bottle of wine and a full belly is something.
I’ve always wanted to ride while drinking a couple beers just to see how fun or how much it would suck.
to clarify I meant ride while drinking not while drunk. Like put a couple 22oz beers in the water holders.
I work with EY who does their financial statement audit. So even though I am not on the account I can't own stock in any company that we audit. However last day is Friday so those restrictions are no longer.
I’m pretty bullish on it long-term. It needed to pullback after that huge run up, but I think the broader market will soon realize that Peloton isn’t just a COVID stock.
Yeah I may not go fully in until right after the vaccine gets distributed and it bumps down with people thinking it is a COVID stock but I know EY just increased their fitness fund and essentially the whole firm is jumping on Peloton. Going to be a pretty nice ride.
49ers probably has more insight that he may or may not be able to share, but here’s Peloton’s most recent shareholder letter. I think the future is very bright. https://investor.onepeloton.com/static-files/75d1e429-dc1f-4264-b53e-6442e1b8c7bd
Retention rates are too high for it to be just a Covid thing. Peloton will be one of those things where although it took Covid to discover it, it's actually a benefit to people under normal circumstances. There isn't going to be a mass of people who cancel and sell their bikes in a year. Maybe the digital app only crowd takes a hit(?) What sucks is I considered just buying stock in them last year just as a fan and didn't pull the trigger for whatever reasons at the time. Would have been nice.
They would be a fascinating company to audit for many reasons. However, auditors only have responsibility for the true financial statements on which firms issue their opinions on. So if you look at Peloton's most recent 10-K anything on or after p. 58 is what EY opines is materially correct. Really the stock isn't driven by nearly any of those figures with the Company still in growth mode. I would assume the team that does the work there would have to be more robust procedures on MD&A figures that the firm typically doesn't provide assurance on. Peloton isn't a large accelerated filer so the firm doesn't have to include robust opinion wording on what they viewed as a critical audit matter (essentially what they viewed as most important to investors) and how they tested that activity. However, I would have to think any critical audit matter is designed around subscription growth, retention rate and the number of subscriptions given that is the primary factor in driving the stock price each earnings cycle. None of those metrics are disclosed in the financial statements and footnotes. But yeah the shareholders' letter is probably the best resource unless you are with the Company. They aren't going away anytime soon.
Not you. I remember being made fun in other threads by the chuds because I talked about having one. I’ve said a million times this is by far the best overall health purchase I’ve ever made. Not once have I regretted getting the bike. I might regret not upgrading.
Oh, I’ll 100% admit I never understood why people would get one....until I got one. Didn’t actively talk down to anyone who had one or anything, but in my head I always thought “Eh seems like a trend/gimmick”. Now that I have one, I’m mad I didn’t get it earlier and I’m really excited to see where I’m at health wise this time next year.
may biggest fear was not sticking with it because I’ve always hated indoor cardio. They obviously knew what they were doing. Got great charismatic instructors that keep you engaged. I’m glad that you guys (that recently got one) like it. Obviously I’m not paid but I would hate for my recommendation to have made someone get something that they hated.
I got my bike on 11/2 and have been sticking with the 20 or 30min rides as I get used to it. Over lunch I decided to test the waters with a 45min ride, I’m drained, but was happy with the results considering it’s been just under 3 weeks. 369 output 13.72 miles 717 calories
Broke 200 on my average output for the first time today and set another PR. Love my girl Olivia. Feel like I set a new PR every time I take one of her classes. Went back and looked at my first ride ever and I put up a 75 average output.
Forget who mentioned Kendall’s mental health ride but thank you for that. Great ride. I’ll be taking it often. Not going to get too much into my history but as someone who has tried to quit about 5 times in my life it made me feel a lot and she seemed to know what she is taking about. It didn’t come off as preachy or condescending.
Daniel Ocean I hate my fucking job and peloton has helped me maintain sanity to a degree and avoid self destruction. Today shit hit the fan and I'm looking but it will be hard to find a job that will pay me as much in the short term. For me I don't really care but I provide for a wife and two kids that I care about far more than myself.
I feel you. I’m only here because of my wife and kids. If it wasn’t for them I’ve had clocked out a long time ago. It sucks I hope shit looks up for you. We’re living in a fucked up time.
Took Kendall’s 45-minute Metallica ride today. Not a PR, but 689 output that finished #1 in my session. Good ride.
Alex has a 30 minute hip hop ride...I believe it’s at 6:30pm (I need to confirm that’s not eastern time). Usually I like to ride right after work, which seems to be a little before the night live rides start, but figured I’d check one out.
i believe the times are set to your time zone. More accurately whatever time zone you set your bike/app to. Mine show live classes in PST so that class shows as 430 for me.
Catching up and Andy stinks. He is unprepared all the time and tries to hard to be hip. 0/10 would not recommend.
Worked all weekend and planned to do a moderate to easy 30 min ride. started the kendall 2000s ride and a session popped up. Wound up hitting 452 kj and winning my group of 38 by over 50kj. best 30 min ride ive done in a few months after doing mostly bootcamps. felt good.
So im pretty new to the Peloton but not fitness in general, I just did the 45 min Metallica ride with Kendall Toole, 9.2 difficulty. Not sure if my legs will ever recover, holy crap. Great ride though, loved the music.
Kind of a dumb/random question but I was thinking I wanted to do a longer ride to burn some extra calories to offset my thanksgiving meal. I’ve seen different opinions on this but does anyone have a suggestion on when it’d be best? I was thinking either a couple hours before my food is ready, or the next day to “burn off” some of that food.
