If it's anything like that tour he did (I think post-Tonight Show and pre-TBS), I'll be pretty excited.
Curious, what do you think HBO is already? I mean since it can be streamed via it's app or Amazon prime etc...
It will all be merged into HBO Max or whatever you want to call it, one streaming platform independent of tv providers. Disney+ has already written the blueprint. Cable providers as we know them will not be around much longer.
Yep. And then we will eventually revert back to traditional cable providers because people will be sick of paying for a million different streaming services.
But part of the fun of cutting the cord is paying all those different streaming services so much that you're not saving money doing it
More or less, but they’ll just start bundling the streaming services...which is effectively the same thing
this post upsets me because I'm a bored and slightly buzzed Letterman stan (and we know the role Letterman played in shaping what Conan chose to do format wise) but he was definitely outstanding in his own right.
the first time I hit that "which button calls your mother to pick you up" I recall quite literally gasping
Been watching Conan forever. Saw him live in Chicago a few years ago and was hilarious. Late Night was always his best work but he's still great. Podcast is good too.
When NBC bought the company that had the rights to walker texas ranger and Conan had the walker texas ranger lever. He would just pull it and we would get great random walker moments. One of my favorite things he did
also remember that show live. i also remember conan's shows in the last week on the tonight show. it was must-see even though it was sad. these "expensive skits" made me laugh a bit but mostly were heart warming and perfectly conan. i also remember a caviar hose on some fossils but couldn't find the skit.
