Who could have ever predicted something like this happening? I’m sure it’s going to get much better after the thanksgiving break.
if they insist on a 4 team playoff, i think it is most fair to have the top 4 of the acc fill those spots. not gonna check the standings. i assume unc is not one of the four so this shows how unbiased and credible i am
i hope the best team of those 4 wins. someone will have to dig in to the numbers to determine who those 4 teams are but that's what we have a stats department for
It actually could, depending on school schedules. OSU changed up their Fall Calendar so all in-person classes would be done before Thanksgiving. No students back on campus until January.
For the record, I approve of unis shifting their schedules to be done next week. It's just all the other bullshit around that decision that renders it useless.
I don't disagree. The point being made was that all of the students coming back after the dumb big Thanksgiving get togethers will make it an even bigger mess. Just saying if nobody comes back as some schools have set up, it could be a bit better and you aren't getting what everyone would have come back with. OSU Prez told all of the students to get a COVID test before you go home and if you're negative, we'll see you in the middle of January....maybe.
it honestly doesnt matter how worse it gets we are mid november. the end is in sight and with it those millions and millions of dollars for bowl games and more specifically the playoff it would take multiple deaths or hospitalizations of coaches and/or starting power 5 players to derail it at this point. they will just power through consequences be damned
The kids wanting to play isn’t worthy of this irrational anger, but if you are going to have it, You need to find a better outlet for it.
Here is the crazy thing, the SEC/Big12 who everyone called "reckless" and "irresponsible" started the season early, and got a lot of their games in, with obviously some delays. The PAC/BIG X delayed their seasons to be cautious and yet, they are trying to play the majority of their games as the community spread has increased to the largest levels seen. With this level of community spread, I anticipate we will see additional limitations on crowd sizes and ultimately the number of games cancelled will continue to climb. It is starting to look like the SEC made the smarter move.
Corrected for my personal feelings. But yeah, I wish my team could play football half as well as it keeps its players Covid-free.
Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years is gonna be just as detrimental. We will see 5K deaths a day at the end of January.
Mississippi State rumored to have covid issues and it's who UGA plays next. It would be our second game in a row that was cancelled and idk how they're going to make these games up at this point
Imagine seeing hundreds of thousands of deaths and millions of cases and thinking that the desires of 18-22 year olds (which, actually, didn’t really matter) should drive whether or not it was reasonable to play football this year
Imagine thinking those hundreds of thousands of deaths are connected to healthy and highly tested kids playing football.
ah yes, players and staff are catching covid and spreading it to teammates (and only teammates) through immaculate infection, not because they’re actually a part of society
It generally is spread within a team once it appears within a team. Don’t think they are doing community service with geriatrics this year.
This is really quite something... Crowd sizes should have been 0 from Day 1. But again, this is all about money and not the kids.
I mean, players and coaches go to stores, restaurants, family and friends houses and all kinds of places where they could get infected or spread.
Can’t. How the hell is anyone supposed to eat at an Applebee’s if everything is shut down. Can’t do it.
Players and coaches don't exist in society. They only interact with each other and their only propose is to let me watch them play football
