Here’s a real banger. Russel’s Reserve Gordon’s Store pick Warehouse A (one of the best) Ken Gordon knows how to pick this kentucky_dawg can vouch 2 available (as before, OK to take both) $67.50 each
Ok last one of the night (probably) Rye of the Tiger 2 (ROTT2) Woodford Reserve Rye pick by Larry’s Beverage and BSM Gorgeous Tater’d gold wax Only 1 available. $70
This is going to be tough. I'm in the Caribbean right now and don't keep my cellular service on. Seems as though I will be through the weekend as I don't want to miss it.
No one wants the ROTT2? Was going to do a bonus one... but maybe not... Woodford rye is not like bourbon
Just never could quite get into it, I bought the riffdependence, and a couple other picks that I’ve tried flipping, but not much of a market.
Any thoughts on Parker’s Heritage 11 year old barrel proof? I think it was the 2017 release. I can get that for $250.
Haven't personally had it, but have heard it's good. https://thewhiskeywash.com/reviews/whiskey-review-parkers-heritage-2017/
My local ABC stores kind of suck. They don’t really carry anything but basic bottles. However, last night I stopped by on the way home and saw they had a High West Bourye on sale for $69, which is about $10-$20 cheaper than I’ve seen anywhere else around here. I’d been meaning to try it, so I snagged one. Any thoughts on this bottle? I’ll crack it open tonight.
Local shop has the following and I need to get some gifts: Pick 2: Knob creek 12 Knob creek quarter oak Makers wood finishing series McKenna 10 Angels envy rye
Depending on price, those two are the best and least controversial of the gifts. I prefer the wood finishing series offerings that are lower in spice. Also, Knob may be a bit harsh for non-bourbon drinkers. AE Rye is a nice gift for the bottle, but doesn't live up to the hype. I have never had the quarter oak.
McKenna 10 is one of my favorite under $50 bourbons, have only tried a couple of the Makers wood finishing but have liked them a lot so far. Don't like angel's envy, especially for the price.
It is for a bourbon drinker, but yeah I figured McKenna would likely be the play. Its the only thing I’ve had from that list. It’s overpriced at 80, but still feel like I’m getting a decent value compared to some of the stuff at the same price point. Makers is the same price SE4XPR5
It's a gift so you might not care but that's way overpriced at double MSRP. If you can wait a week I can most likely get you some for $40 and even with a shipping label you're well ahead.
Thanks gents. Going out of town next Wednesday, so I might search around tonight/tomorrow to see what I can find
McKenna offer stands for anyone in here. It's probably the only bourbon that seems some of you guys have a hard time finding at all or for a good price and I can find it pretty consistently for $40ish with tax.
If it's for a bourbon drinker then the limited nature of the SE4 PR6 wood finishing series makes it the clear winner
Great start to the weekend so far... -2019 Pappy 15 -Blanton's Gold -2019 GTS pick my next drink? 2019 WLW, 2019 Lot B, or Weller CYPB
