He keeps track of excess mortality, and he was surprised to find most of it in the summer hotspots (under reporting of covid deaths). Prob not real surprising for TX/FL and their R governors.
The amount of people who are in the “I don’t know what to believe with all this information out there. First it’s no masks then it’s masks then it’s icus are full but they’re not full of covid patients it’s the media scaring us!” Then my bosses pcp told him and his family if they’re healthy to not wear masks because they don’t do anything to protect you from getting the virus. Completely neglected to say it’s not for your protection it’s to protect others if you’re a carrier. I can’t convince them(coworkers) of this. However they wear a mask because it’s company policy when you’re within 6’ of someone. TLDR: we’re fucked
What’s the best way to not get pregnant if you are trying to fuck but not have a child? A condom and birth control. What’s the sure fire way not to get pregnant at all? Don’t fuck. So if we have to work and do things around other people the only way to be safe and not get covid is for all parties involved to use protection. Yes there’s still a small chance that the protection doesn’t work and someone gets knocked up but it’s far less likely and people just get to fuck.
Team get knocked up and just have an abortion translates to no mask, “if I die I die, but probably won’t because it’s basically a cold?”
Yeah the whole thing breaks down with too much thought but I liked 1) comparing getting pregnant to catching a deadly disease and 2) the opportunity to sing the praises of IUDs. Fucking without having to think about things is fun.
I fight it with the rhyming method. If I rhyme all the time, my immune system is working good like it should.
Either from a neighbor group that we hang out or one of the bars/restaurants that we all went. In Atlanta most independent places around us don’t require masks except for the servers. But it’s been that way since may.
3 y/o had a fever for a day and then went away. No one in the house showing symptoms except occasionally needing to rub our nose. Even trying to go get a test to just be sure for others sake....everyone is currently getting tested so they can have big Thanksgiving get togethers which leads to 3 hour wait here or 2 hour wait there which unfortunately couldn't do walking up so will try again tomorrow. Anyway...getting tested should be way easier by now especially knowing a couple sites that no longer exist.
I think it’s all a matter of perspective on the types of cases you see. I have an aunt who’s a nurse for a local clinic and has only seen the mild cases and says “it’s not that bad”. On the flip side my other aunt who is head of nursing at a hospital in Texas is working the floor because her staff is overworked/dropping like flies due to covid. She said she’s never had this many people die in front of her in such a short amount of time it’s crazy. She told her sister to fuck off with her take that it “isn’t that bad” and get her ass down to Texas to work if she didn’t think it was a serious thing. Texas aunt she isn't coming in for the holidays and told everyone to cancel plans because of how close quarters everyone would be in and this shit would spread like wildfire.
One was "pre-register" a few others don't show any appointments available right now or I called and said it's just walk up.
Another idea is call your primary care physician and see if they can offer PCR tests edit: or your pediatrician
CVS showing no appointments. Will have to game plan. My overall point though is how stupid it is to need this much effort
Lack of critical thinking is bizarre. I’m not dealing with death at my local clinic, so all must be well. Surely I could not comprehend things being worse elsewhere!
Depend on how thanksgiving/christmas/new years shakes out but 4-5K seems more likely with our current trajectory.
Hospitalizations are soon going to be double the max in the spring. We averaged ~1800 deaths/day early April to early May, but the hospitalizations peaked and then came down fairly quickly. Doubt that happens this time.
It's absolutely pathetic how much of his reputation he decided to flush down the toilet when he started criticizing Obama, just straight up became anti-science. This was a man who my Black 7th grade english teacher loved so much that she had us watch a documentary about him in class.
It always makes me think of this brutal take down of him when people scream about him knowing what he’s talking about because he’s a doctor. https://www.newyorker.com/humor/bor...g-stereotype-about-brain-surgeons-being-smart
And let’s be clear here, if you have a cell phone on your person, they can locate you to within a few hundred yards. Location data off? Doesn’t matter. VPN? Doesn’t matter. If your cell phone is on and connected to a tower you can be located.
