Surprised at people saying it was "good" or "decent"

I thought it was the best of the season and a top-five of the series so far.

It had the perfect blend of action, cliffhanger thrills, callbacks, lore building, good pacing, solid acting, and plot-progression.

Too many of these episodes have either been empty half hours of meaningless fun, or badly paced easter-egg hunts. This had it all and was, imo, one of the best examples of how great the show can be.

    Only criticism for me

Really really missed Johnny Williams during the speeder bike fight

Episode definitely did a great job as a stand-alone and also progressing the overarching plot of the series. Initially seemed like another one off to hold us off until Ahsoka, and then they expertly swerved into showing us the episode actually gives us a much larger view of the plot of the series as a whole.

Forgive my ignorance here but by “cloning” y’all mean “create a Jedi”? Because that’s what I got that they were doing. Injecting baby Yoda blood to create Jedi’s.

and from what I remember the one time I watched episodes 1-3 the clones were just machine armies that looked like ant eaters.

ie - if they weren't trying to inject baby yoda blood in the subjects to create jedi's in this weeks Mando episode, put that part in bold in your quote. If they were trying to create Jedi's in Attack of the Clones, put the second part of my post in bold... I just remember a huge robot army, not any science experiment to use midichlorian blood to make Jedi. But it's been 18 years since I've seen that Ep 2

also I think you’re confusing someone who can use the force with them being a Jedi, which isn’t necessarily true. seemed they were injecting something with baby yoda blood to give it force abilities. whether that was a clone of someone or what I have no idea.

I do faintly remember Obi-Wan and Jango Fett fighting on the landing pad in that movie. Just don't remember there being an army of Mando clones... just an army of droids having blue goo shot at them.

Still seems a little different from what they were doing in the bunker in this episode unless Jango had midichlorian juice in his blood.

The scientist dude mentioned injecting people with the highest "M-count" they could find. I presumed that they meant Mediclorian count to make it more likely that Yoda DNA would make functional force users.

At first I thought it was part of the cloning operation to create a body for Palpatine since they talked about m-count I assumed it was about using the child’s DNA to create a clone body that could withstand force abilities for him long-term

But with that end shot on the bridge and the suits it looks like they’re trying to create super-warrior clones with some slight force ability

I think the idea is they’re trying to make some sort of force sensitive juiced up troopers

I’m imagining like the death troopers from rogue one but who can more feel the force moreso than wield it (like Donnie yen in rogue one)

Very confused by this post. yes I know who they are. was Vader not considered a Jedi after the Anakin-Obiwan fight?

FYI I realize when having discussions with serious star wars fans that "Force sensitive" and "jedi" are not synonymous. My statement about casual star wars viewers conflating the two is true though.

It sure seems like Gideon and his goons want The Child in order to extract his midichlorian-rich blood, no doubt to create a force-sensitive clone. The shot near the end which featured Moff Gideon admiring what looked to be an array of black armor suits makes me think the Empire (or maybe Gideon as a would-be Emperor) is trying to bring back the Clone Army, only this time with force powers.

That's my take on it anyway.
