Beautiful weekend in Fayetteville. Game was great except the urinal that exploded on me. Took pig trail home, haven’t done that in probably 10 years. Such an awesome drive, wish I could have seen it a few weeks ago
thought I had already posted story here. I was trashed and texted to so many people wanting empathy but only got laughed at. I mean it was hilarious but god dammit it hurt my feelings
So what happened w KJ and him being the future starter? I think Bert said something about probably headed to portal but why? And why not now if this year is a bye
We have another QB that seems like he'll overtake him as the starter next year (assuming Franks leaves). He probably wants to play. No hard feelings.
Hornsby has already passed him on depth chart and is the future after Franks. There’s no need to head to portal in a hurry. Everyone gets a one time transfer this season without penalty.
It’s been at least 15 years since I’ve enjoyed watching a defensive player in a hog uniform as much as him
If you get a chance to watch this, I highly recommend it. Really solid episode and behind the scene look at the program.
↑ We will see what Pittman is about this off-season Briles has to go Both will be gone after next year Hoss Bonaventure Who is going to be gone next year?
I disagree completely. This isn’t on Briles, it’s on the OLine. We can’t run the ball effectively, and we can’t protect half the time. We have to move the pocket or max protect in order to give Franks time to execute what’s called. Franks is too careful in my eyes in a lot of cases and won’t pull the trigger on questionable throws. He missed some reads and his short throws struggle but we don’t need a Heisman; we need protection so he isn’t worried about the rush and we need someone who can make better reads.
Agreed our lines are hot garbage, can only improve from here. Pittman is a proven recruiter which is what we need to get us out of this mess and it starts with the lines. Morris recruited the flashy shit but if you can’t protect the qb to get the ball to the flashy shit, you’re going to have a rough day every Saturday.
This is all on Morris; he had no idea how to manage the line of scrimmage from a talent perspective. My concern is his recruiting is going to struggle this year due to covid and not getting kids on campus. We are going to need some transfers who have the frame and size to hold their own in this league. Luckily we have the coaches to teach the technique. Hopefully we won’t continue to have players out due to covid issues. We are also going to need another QB transfer. I just don’t see KJ being the guy and Malik is going to need to be damn good to start as a sophomore.
No one. I don’t think they’re gone next year. It’s a bum deal with this season basically being an asterisk but I don’t see them getting much time to build regardless. As stated we need a line and that takes time. I also don’t know who we have to step up and come in as another Franks at qb. I’m assuming some younger brother or cousin of the Dicks or Allen’s.
He played last week against Florida which I thought was the coaching staffs attempt to give him hope he can play and keep him out of the portal. I may be wrong though.
Every time Franks takes off, runs three yards, then falls on his face like a nerd in high school I think "I wonder what Hornsby would look like on those QB runs."
I haven’t kept up with our recruits and whatnot. I just haven’t seen anything a casual fan would see to replace Franks. Same as me shitting on them getting rid of Pittman because of the fucked up situation he inherited. I thinks pittman can build a good team I just hope the powers that be let him do it
Help me understand, in what instance has the Arkansas athletic dept or boosters not given a coach enough time to demonstrate if they will be successful? Have there been examples of them firing coaches too quickly which I have missed?
I am curious why Hornsby didn’t play against Florida, wouldn’t that have been a decent time to play? Instead they ran KJ out after it was out of reach. Any insight?
Because he’s not physically ready yet, and a lot of coaches wont throw a true freshman out there against a top 10 team to get ruined
Makes sense, I didn’t consider anyone being ruined against Florida as the pressure was off and we were going against the second team in most cases. I was just surprised to see KJ come in ahead of Hornsby after hearing he was second string.
Oh and I am not sure how many people heard the interview with Muss this week, but we shouldn’t have many issues with Covid this season. Apparently most of the men’s BB team has already had it. So anyone who has it gets an exemption from having to test for 90 days.
