Yeah, this is dumb. People are dying, even people who have followed every rule and protocol set forth because some things can't be controlled. If there is a 1% chance you might cause a super spreader event, you can't do it. I don't give a rip if its football (which is literally the dumbest reason possible to even try) hanging out with groups of people, or anything else. People are afraid to leave their houses because of your line of thinking. I swear a lot because this is monumentally stupid. I've lost a number of people I know because the government screwed this up. My mother is going to die alone in a facility without her family because people haven't taken this seriously, so forgive me if I get irate at your assertion that football in a pandemic matters even in the slightest. The fact that Dabo doesn't get this is pathetic. The fact that your a blindly agreeing with him makes you a dope. If they shut this whole thing down tomorrow thousands of people are still going to die and the fact that there isn't football changes nothing. Both of you should know better.
Because ND and BC both knew that Trevor took proper precautions and that there was zero chance he spread the virus to anyone even though practicing and attending meets the entire week.
Out of fear of what? Getting beat? Getting embarrassed? FSU has been perpetually embarrassing for about four seasons now. Clemson beat FSU in Doak 59-10 two years ago, but they’re worried about being embarrassed at home? FSU played its second-biggest rival (and got embarrassed) without Mike Norvell because he tested positive, but they’re using COVID as an excuse? FSU’s athletic department is under water, but they’re willing to throw away the revenue from the biggest home game of the season to avoid a loss? I know you guys think Dabo is the Messiah, but quit being such goddamn martyrs.
Man demanding kids entertain him and put thier health at risk during a global pandemic demands for posters to "Grow Up" on a message board.
I'm not sure that Notre Dame is the horse I'd want to hitch my cart to in this discussion. Its president was a superspreader.
Best wishes for you mom. Seriously. Awesome. All of these kids were provided the ability to opt out. That's not demanding that they play but rather giving them the option.
Can we all just acknowledge Clemson is as Clemson does and move on? We're not going to change hearts and minds ITT.
Or make fun of them for being scared to play FSU. I'm good with that, too. But let's stop trying to make them care about other people.
When that protocol involves not listening to medical staff is it really a protocol set up to protect those kids? What you’re really intending to say is that those mostly white millionaires have setup protocols in place to make sure that the billion dollar entity continues to operate on the backs of unpaid (mostly black) kids, a true southern tradition.
I don’t remember the holier than thou Notre Dame fans suggesting cancelling the Clemson game after the star player tested positive. Or wagging their fingers when they rushed the field - surrounding players, coaches, support staff, etc. Or of course ceasing to support their coach after he killed a kid.
All teams outside of the one run by the racist COVID-truther, pretty much. That’s like protocol 101 with this virus. Once again it’s shocking how little knowledge you and apparently the entire Clemson universe have of this virus. The first case was 12 months ago now. I know you’re just defending your team and your dumbass coach but you’re just coming off as an absolute moron and you don’t need to.
Wouldn’t FSU have made up Covid positives and canceled earlier in the week if they just didn’t want to play at all? Seems like an easier way of ensuring the game would not happen as opposed to hoping Clemson would be dumb enough to travel a positive player w/symptoms down here to allow us to cancel at the last second. But I guess luckily enough for us they were dumb enough to do just that and the well thought out, secretive plan (that FSU officials are known for) to avoid the game worked perfectly.
The best part was when FSU let Clemson get all the to Tallahassee before being like “lol no.” Trolled!
Right, the medical professionals made the call not the white trash Alabama hick you're white knighting which is why it got postponed
A symptomatic player did not practice or travel. I don't know who started this narrative. Dabo sat a Heisman hopeful in the biggest game of the year out of extra caution. He did not allow a random backup OL to travel while showing symptoms.
Perhaps you missed everyone rightfully shitting on him and calling for his removal. And then shitting on the faculty senate for backing away from it’s plan to vote ‘no confidence’
No, I didn't miss that. Perhaps you missed the point of my post, as it was in the context of administrative decisions and not fan reactions thereto.
Went with the club sub combo (mike’s way w jalapeños, naturally) from Jersey Mike’s with a bag of Doritos and a nice ice water today. Also, called a last minute audible and went with Parmesan bread instead of my usual wheat. Great choice. It’s been a While since I’ve been able to enjoy some JM, but as usual, it didn’t disappoint
Haven't been following the whole thing but was Clemson's line really "the positive player sat by himself on the plane and bus"? a fucking bus. "we isolated him in this enclosed space with everyone else"
Lol no the fuck he didnt. He sat because he had to because he still had to have a cardiac test before he could be cleared.
Yeah this doesn’t seem nearly as complicated as the Dabo defenders are making it. I feel like they are about to start quoting legal documents regarding COVID policies. Clemson practiced and traveled with a kid that had COVID. We’re just supposed to think FSU is going to say ok guys, did your best, followed the protocols. Hopefully no one else on the team caught it, now come swap spit with us for 60 minutes and hopefully our team doesn’t have an outbreak.
It flip flops between that and “he wasnt showing symptoms when he travelled” depending on who is telling the story at the time.
He ended up being cleared before. They weren't sure how long it was gonna take, but prob wanted DJ fully ready to go with a week of practice.
Norvell really should be like, "We can provide you a date. We can provide you venue. We can even provide you half the gate. But we can't give you guts"
