yea they like cancelled athletics before anyone else so the kids were able to transfer without penalty but literally the best 5 players in the city including like 3 D1 players went to Merrillville. It was kind of controversial considering there were much closer schools and it looked like recruiting then Hammond decided to play sports about two weeks into the season
Yea that’s interesting. They must know that the free transfer rule is coming into effect and they are going to push some dead weight out
ND has 24 graduate and seniors who won’t count as scholarships if they come back next year (they all won’t, maybe 10-15 will) there is probably 5 underclass transfers so yea I guess ND can really take 26/27 no problem
With everyone getting a free year of eligibility this season, next season there likely won't be a limit (or the limit will be something like 110 or something). The time of reckoning will be the season after (2022). Will the NCAA just say "Back to 85" or will they have one more buffer season maybe at 100 or 95.
yup. not having to worry about in-person classes (amongst many other benefits to campus being empty) is so big. let's finish strong
since class is over, is ND still restricted by the 20 hr practice rule limit during the regular season? I know during Fall Camp, they can practice as much as they want to.
and just to be clear, i'm not saying they practice more because I don't want physical burnout, but they could spend more time with the coaches reviewing film, etc...
one other thought - I think Covid has actually been really really good for Book's psyche this year. It has kept him isolated from the other students and all the noise that comes with that whether he has a good or bad game. I still have no idea why he needs half a season to pick up his play but I sure am glad he decided to do it now
Excited to watch Correll and what he brings to this line. Losing Patterson is big and think we take a step back in the zone/power runs without him but ZC will be fun to watch pulling into space. His sr tape is clip after clip of him doing his best Q impression trying to bury people or t-bag them (insert picture of him and BK together). Bet we’ll see a lot more pin and pull blocking and at least a couple of penalties—hopefully a personal foul when it matters least.
I liked him as a recruit and that 14 second clip has validated my entire evaluation of him, no need to look at the rest of his career
sure why the fuck not, ND should flex next season. Bring back every 5th year they can if they aren't going to count towards scholarships and carry 100+ players, fuck it act like a wealthy school for once Playing old is the way to go anyways
