Thor and Yvan are back from last year. Banton sat out last season, was a WKU transfer and is like 6’9 200lbs but is expected to play at the 1 or 2, tons of hype around him. He graduated a year early and enrolled at WKU for one season. McGowens is the brother of the new 5 star signee, immediately eligible after transferring from Pitt. Started like 60+ games his first two seasons there. Teddy Allen is a JUCO transfer, avg 30+ a game in JUCO. Freshman year he played at WVU, had a couple 20pt games in the B12, also had solid NCAA performances off the bench. He’s a classic Hoiberg transfer, played. Kobe Webster is a grad transfer from Western Illinois. Avg about 17PPG and scored 1400+ in his career. Probably a good veteran presence to have. Shamiel Stevenson and Lat Mayen are two others Id expect to be alright. Derrick Walker should provide minutes/fouls down low at the very least too.
Very excited to be disappointed in Teddy Allen. I have such high hopes that I’m sure they’ll be squashed in classic NU fashion.
https://unl.app.box.com/s/1y0xdkkcsa55tm48shk355pbc8koe5x9 Real enjoyable watch for Nebrasketball if you've got 40 minutes. If anything just skip to the practice vid at 20ish minutes.
I wouldn’t be shocked if Banton facilitates a lot. Also Stevenson hasn’t played in a real game for over 2 years so maybe he emerges by B10 play.
I pretty sure I remember him saying that Banton would be running the point more often than not. IIRC, he did really good during the Italy trip last year.
Yeah that is what I thought as well, I think they had mentioned before that he did a good job running the point on the scout team last year, too.
I am hopeful the new guys make a bigger impact than some of the guys last year, because theres a handful of them that were in the program sitting out last season, but even the one's who didn't at least have played P5. Teddy Allen made a big impact off the bench for WVU towards the end of the season his freshman year.
Yeah I could see Banton running point too but he’s a huge mofo to be doing that consistently. Super usual
Forgot they said that the Lat Mayen dude is a pretty solid 3pt shooter for a 6-9 guy. Excited for him too.
Watching this reminds me just how much easier it is to like/believe in Hoiberg compared to Frost at this point.
Here's a trip down TMB memory lane. It's the anniversary of me winning that RC copter at Iguanas much to the chagrin of my Tessa at the time.
HuskerInMiami you fuck around with these rocket launches? We get a good view over here. Always amazed we can even hear the bigger ones. Nice view tonight.
Rumor I have seen was he failed a drug test(s) while at UT. Obviously was unable to serve that suspension last season since he transferred, but I guess the NCAA decides to say that wasn't enough, lets make you sit out 75% of this season too. Pretty sure the rules have changed since then too.
I'm willing to bet if this happened to a blue blood type program, nothing would come of it. We saw what happened with the Adidas/FBI stuff.
NCAA just doesn't want us winning the CBI this year and using that to spring us into the Sweet 16 next season.
That Eduardo Andre dude going to get some playing time now I would guess. True freshman, raw talent, but 6'10 with a 7'4 wingspan.
Which is higher free throw percentage rate today or Iowa third down conversion rate on Friday? I'll hang up and listen.
