I'm speaking with no sourcing or anything, but I think YTTV will roll out pro/premium features and put them behind a paywall. A few options include, in addition to what you suggested; 4k, multiview/pbp, higher quality audio formats, etc. The only support I have for this is a survey they sent me, with a bunch of questions including some around the ideas above. Sports watchers aren't going anywhere and if they focus on features for cord cutting sports watchers, they will always have a huge potential audience/customer base. They gotta prioritize us over Hallmark Channel viewers, imo.
How do I access this free preview of HBO Max on YTTV? I don’t see it in my guide and if I go to watch aN HBO show, such as Game of Thrones, it says I have to do a seven-day free trial
If you have a custom guide set up then you'll need to go to where you edit that...scroll down then select to activate the channels from there.

The last week or so my Roku Stick+ has been loading apps slowly with a % dialogue box that takes 5-10 second to get to 100%. Not every time, not every app. Is this a memory issue or app updates or something? I’ve seen it a few times, but never this frequently.
I know of most y'all don't care, but YTTV just dropped Tennis Channel which is owned by Sinclair. Pisses me off.
YTTV adding WGN next month https://deadline.com/2020/12/as-dis...-wgn-america-deal-with-youtube-tv-1234635810/
I get that coming from someone with a family but man theaters were one of the few places that I actually enjoyed being at outside of home so this is sad
I will still make an effort to see some of these in the theater as normal (in fact, I'm in discussion with my siblings on our Christmas Day plans to attend WW1984 in the theater, but MAN this is an atomic bomb on the theatrical model. These Warner media execs seemed to have hurried this announcement, to get it out before the vaccine is available.
I can count on one hand how many times I’ve gone to a move theater in the last 15 years. I don’t enjoy the experience so this is an opportunity for me to see movies when they release instead of months later or via Torrance.
With a beer, I don’t mind that but I’ve been to the movies 4 times in the last 15 years. I know what I saw. knocked up (date) We’re the millers (work “team building”) Harry Potter the last movie no idea what it’s called (date) Elf (work event for clients) movies I’ve seen at home slightly larger but not by much. Sorry for coming to my Ted talk.
Last went to the theater to see Apollo 11 back in 2019. Went by myself and there was no one else there. Snuck in some chocolate pretzels. Great movie to see in that setting
Sorry for being a rube, but can someone share a streaming site where I can watch Deutschland 89? For some bizarre licensing reasons, the first 4 episodes are not available on Amazon Prime anymore. TIA
could try Sundance channel app on a Roku I torrance'd the first 2 seasons bc it aired on UK tv before USA. So thats the easiest route.
Free Chromecast (the new version) for YTTV subscribers. Check your email and make sure to claim before New Year.
I get that, but they are priced the same as the other guys, pretty much. The extreme value is gone, but now looks more like any other cable subscription in terms of lineup and cost. Thankfully the tech and interface is way better, so I will be sticking with them. Especially since I have long term faith in YTTV.
it was super tight when they increased their prices to ensure fox sports rsn remained and then sinclair pulled them anyways and the prices didnt come back down really cool stuff
This is awesome. Thanks for sharing. I never check the email acct that my YTTV acct is tied to so I would've definitely missed it.
In looking over my email it does seem like they may only be offering it to those who were among the first adopters... From the email
Doesn't matter. I just got one when they had a 6 months of Netflix promotion included. hasn't worked well for me at all. YTTV crashes everytime I open it. And it won't play AC3 audio through hdmi passthrough on Plex. Plays DTS just fine, though.
I got it with that deal as well. Only problem I had with it was not longer after getting it, it stopped recognizing the remote and I had to factory reset both the device and the remote to get it to work again. Well and I guess sometimes the Home Screen takes a long time to load.
