I agree 100%, It's hard enough working in a hospital during all of this and having to disinfect in the garage before entering my house. But since Mrs. Celemo is having surgery next month, I'm hyper-sensitive about everything that's going on around here and that nurse was dumb as shit
A friend of mine is now in the hospital with covid & subsequently pneumonia. 38 year old father of 4 that was in pretty decent shape. Fuck this.
That was like my 30 year old sister in law. Spent 14 days in the ICU. She’s made a remarkable recovery though physically. The sad part is the emotional impact it’s had on her. She’s a still a wreck in the head and he 4 year old and 1 year old are still struggling emotionally from it.
He's not woke, he just actually practices what religion is supposed to be about. He's not just using it as cover for bigotry and hatred like 90% of the evangelicals do in this country. He actually believes in and follows this shit.
Also DuckKin if you're going argue with me about religion I'm not doing that shit in this thread. Take it elsewhere, I also 100% don't give a shit to take part in that argument. I'm an atheist.
I don't know about "full" but it's in the Old Testament, sure. When JC entered the scene he tried redirecting man's misinterpretations and misguided focus, which has unfortunately returned in a lot of ways.
What does this mean specifically? Is this some of the neurological problems people are talking about that COVID can cause are you talking about something else? Sounds scary.
I’ve read and seen how it can impact people emotional and psychologically. Don’t know if it’s the virus or just the extreme traumatic experience of almost dying. My SIL just seems to be a wreck. Loses control of her emotions. Cries a lot. Kind of up and down all the time. Def different than she was before. But the good news is it does seem the be getting better.
there was a study going around about covid patients experiencing subsequent mental health disorders. something like one in five being diagnosed with depression or anxiety
That really is low key the best thread on this entire board. Lots of praising going on in there............ Spoiler Not of god though
My 91 year old grandma was removed from quarantine and is able to go back to her room in the memory unit after testing positive 3 weeks ago. Outside of a cough, she was asymptomatic. Hoping for the best buddy
My wife had a lot of mental issues during the month quarantine down here (and then testing positive) because of not being around other people. I selfishly enjoyed being so isolated. She has has recovered since, so there is hope.
yea one in five is the general figure thrown around wrt the prevalence of mental health disorders the covid study I referenced was one in five diagnosed with a new mental disorder within three months of a their covid diagnosis though
Didn't we used to have a depression thread on here at one time? I looked for it awhile back and couldn't locate it.
we’ve been back at school in-person for about a month and it’s generally felt ok but ngl im pretty terrified being here today. should have gone back to virtual during the holiday season imo
I would assume spending 14 days worried that you might not be able to take your next breath would have negative effects on your mental health. Especially when 40% of the country is saying that you were fine and just had the flu.
Had my two closest (to me) deaths this weekend and it's like the exact same story with both SO's aunt (62 y/o) - Had early stage breast cancer but was in very good health (considering) with her last chemo treatment due to be in December. Caught COVID about 3 weeks ago and died Saturday morning after being on a vent for a week. They're not doing a memorial service. She said the family wants to do a celebration of life weekend over the July 4th holiday (assuming they can) up north. Longtime coworker/friend's aunt (around 60ish I think) - Just just finished chemo for breast cancer in June. Caught COVID about 3 weeks ago and died Sunday morning after being on a vent for a week. He said they're doing a celebration weekend over Memorial Day weekend July 4th weekend seems fairly realistic. Memorial day maybe. Either way, woe is the person who has to enforce a "be vaccinated or you can't come" policy. Going to be a lot of these types of things.
As there should be. Once there’s a vaccine at least we won’t have to be tested and isolate before seeing people. It’s why I’ve only seen my mom and dad once since all this has started.
Yeah I haven't been home (just 4 hours away) to see my mom(63)/grandmother(83) in about 3 months now and have seen them a couple times. Was going to come home for Thanksgiving since it would just be the 3 of us, but my mom's even more consistently careful than I am and told me not to come because they had been around too many people--she takes my grandmother to all of her random doctor/specialist appointments and my grandmother continues to have visitors from family members who refuse to wear masks. I berated my two uncles last week for visiting them and making my mom be the bad guy
“If we had just gone all-in on licking each other from day one and just let the weak die, no schools would have to be closed now.”
Man this shit is scary. Grandma (82) symptomatic last Sunday, tested positive Monday. Fever, GI issues and fatigue but she sounded very energetic when I spoke to her Thursday. Middle of that night she was afib and went to the hospital with chest pains. Gave her remdesivir and everything is back to normal at this point, planning to discharge her in the morning.
Why does it take 17 days for the FDA to decide whether or not to approve this? Seems like a ridiculous delay that will cost thousands of lives.
Yeah, we normally chat maybe 10 min on the phone and that call was a full hour. She would not stop talking. Then 6 hours later, landslide
