Seeing a strange with both mine and my wife’s Xs Max. Just this week it happened a few times where the screen freezes up but more concerning the cellular bars completely go away. It started happening with mine and the only way I could get it back was to power off/on. It happened yesterday on my wife’s so I’m less concerned it’s a hardware thing on mine. Anyone else seeing this or hearing it be an issue with the latest iOS?
Yes, I have the xs max as well and have seen it a couple times. I didn’t have to turn my phone off, I waited a couple minutes and the service bars came back. the freezing of the keyboard bothers me more. I was wanting to hold off until the next one comes out for an upgrade but it may cause me to go ahead and get the 12.
Based on macrumors’ guide, this is the longest wait since the Apple TV has been refreshed. I’ve been watching because one of my kindle fire boxes died recently. Based on how Apple supports multiple brands of controllers connecting to the existing device and the breakthroughs on silicon chips, I’m wondering if Apple has any (serious) interest in the console market or if that’s not their lane? I know every 3 months or so the “Apple investigates buying Nintendo” rumors surface, but at this point it may make more sense than ever. The base Air can now handle 8k Video editing. (I’m just rambling, but I really want a way to play Nintendo games through the same device I stream with...and be able to continue the game on another device if I want).
I use a Logitech hub and remote with my Apple TV. If I need to do voice I just grab the official Apple TV remote, and that’s hardly ever as I don’t find it overly accurate.
Anyone getting significant initial lag while writing a text? I will start typing but I don't see text until approx 3-5 seconds after I started. 11 pro max.
I had this issue with my X quite often. Do a search for the issue as something fixed it. I can’t remember if it was a setting or an iOS upgrade which resolved the issue.
Does anyone have one of those Magsafe wallets, if so how do you like it? Will it connect to all 12 models?
I really don’t get the remote hate. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it’s hard to tell which way is up based on feel alone but otherwise it does what it’s supposed to.
agree. I don’t mind the remote at all. even my 4 year old can use it easily. re: the orientation, I’ve used these cases for years and they help while also offering protection because they are somewhat fragile.
I like mine, but I also don't wear skinny jeans/super slim pockets. Only holds about 3 cards. Yes, compatible with all iPhone 12 models.
Are the Airpod Pros worth the extra $80 over the regular pair? Going to get some for the wife, not sure she cares about the quality, but figured I’d ask.
AirPods Pro case, any recommendations? I just want something that will protect the case well if I drop it. Also, should I wait to see how I like the tips that come with them or should I go ahead and order the Comply foam tips? Any other accessories I should consider?
go ahead and order the foam tips. The ones that come with them are ok, but the foam ones are a big upgrade.
I think I'll wait and see which size works best for me first. I don't want to get the multi-size pack then not have any use for some of the sizes.
The newest models? Yes. Last year I was able to snag my mom a 2018 Air for $799 at Costco. That’s the biggest discount I can remember for Apple products.
actually looking for the opposite, something like the standard 7th/8th gens. I remember seeing the base 32GBs on sale for like $269 at Best Buy last year
Anyone having any issues with app switching causing a stuttering as you either swipe up to go home or to switch apps? Apparently its a fairly common issue people are seeing, but only sparingly. I am having the issue on my 12 Pro, but others aren't having the problem.
I am guessing it is the most recent update but my iPhone 11 has some serious issues with remaining connected to my WiFi at home. I am assuming it's the update since my laptop has remained connected and working well, as have my work mobile (Apple, but haven't done the update yet) and my iPad.
FYI for any new/old(er) MacBook Pro/Air owners with only the USB C ports, this thing has been a fantastic addition to the computer. basically a magsafe adapter.
I literally have one of those (probably a difference brand) saved to a save for later wishlist on Amazon for when I eventually need it.
Got my AirPods Pro today. Watching the most recent episode of the Mandalorian thru my iPhone to try out the spatial audiO . They need to add this to the current gen Apple TV And the noise cancellation is every bit as good as my over ear ANC headphones if not slightly better.
It’s nice having earbuds that connect without problems. My headphones have always worked fine but my other wireless earbuds are a pain in the ass for that.
I received my M1 Air today. Disappointed to see Homebrew isn't updated for ARM yet. Has anyone tried it with Rosetta?
I'm giving up on Chrome for now. Does anyone here use Safari? Are there any actually useful Safari Extensions? I do dislike that I've lost RES and that everything goes through the App Store but I think I'm willing to try to make this work.
I started using firefox more because TMB works better on it. Pretty much all the same extensions I used on Chrome, are available on firefox
