I know this was also the Peloton stock thread so it just jumped 7% today and now I wonder if I missed news that the vaccines got rejected.
So not sure if this was the issue because I noticed it after I rode today, but there’s a small plastic cover thing that goes around the hole where the seat goes in. It looks like that was a little loose, I pulled the seat out and tried to “snap” it back on. Only reason I think this was the problem with my seat is because I noticed even when my seat was fully tight it had a little wiggle room left/right or forward/back. We’ll see how it goes tomorrow.
458 yesterday in my first post Thanksgiving 30-minute ride was better than I thought after how much I ate last weekend. I'm fat but not that fat.
I'm not an expert, but own some PTON so follow it a bit. It's just extremely volatile right now and I think retail traders are buying and selling huge stakes overreacting against the market. Stock is still pretty well sold off from its peak around $140 before all the vaccine news pummeled it, so I think it'll see gains in days like today where most of the market was down and there continue to be considerable Covid related concerns. If more states introduce more lockdowns, I think it'll fly right past $140 again. But when the vaccines pick up, I think it'll go back down possibly below $100 again. Overreacting way too much to Covid demand when people should be focusing on the underlying technology and business.
Jess Simms bike bootcamps continue to be far and away the best classes on there. 45 minute full body kicked my ass today.
I've got a rather large portion of my net worth in PTON so I'm also following along closely. Time will tell, but the chart is really shaping up nicely. It consolidated nicely above a major support level in the mid 90s. I'm hoping we can fill the gap up to about 123, consolidate, and then retest the ATH at 139.75. As to the fundamentals, I'm super bullish even in a post-COVID world. Peloton has major demand backlogs for the Bike+, but a new factory coming on line in December. Then the Tread starts shipping in Feb/Mar. I think they'll report huge numbers for 2Q21 and 3Q21 and then a difficult comp to compete with in 4Q21. Still the growth and retention rates speak for themselves and I'm betting that this is anything but a fad.
Unfortunately that didn’t work. I’m wondering at what point I try to call peloton or something. Don’t want to do it if it’s something dumb but it’s getting annoying and by the end of rides my knees are cramped up and can’t extend.
Supposed to be getting my bike+ tomorrow, called today and they said everything is set for delivery. Have a bad feeling for some reason still, anyone had any delivery issues recently?
it’s not something dumb. Your knees can get fucked up with the improper fit. I’d call them ASAP especially since you’re under warranty and with the back log it might take a while for them to get out to you. I try to do everything ASAP right now with the uncertainty of everything.
I feel like I have the seat fully tight but I can still wiggle it. How tight do you guys tighten this thing? Only reason I’m hesitant to go overboard is I’ve read that can also cause damage.
don’t know how to say it but natural stopping point? Once it feels like it’s tighten I stop. Hope that makes sense. I’ve never had the issue so I don’t know how to answer.
Got our bike+ upgrade delivered this past Saturday after an October delay. Delivery was scheduled between 8-10am. After the new date was set there was no other notice or confirmation from Peloton. They called me at 8:51 the morning of and were there in 10-15 minutes. They brought the bike into the house and put it in our front office area in place of our original bike. I told them we no longer wanted to trade our old bike in. He said they would make a note on the account and they went and ahead and left me the “free” accessories that came with the trade in. The delivery guy did take the serial number off the old bike. We’re hoping to sell it locally for double the $700 Peloton offers for the trade in. I’m not sure if Peloton will reach out to enquire about the trade in. Overall really happy with the bike+. Blew several PRs away on Saturday and Sunday. I’m also only a couple hundred hours away from the annual 10,000 minutes challenge. Definitely gotten our money worth this year.
My Bike was scheduled to be delivered last Monday and Sunday night they emailed me and told me they were having to delay it until January 2nd. They gave me 10% off my order due to the delay.
I have too until last month. Just noticed tonight after a 45min boot camp that I only had 1.5 miles this month from my warmup.
also you can’t accumulate miles while it’s in the strength portion of the workout. I tried to jump on the bike fast the other day while she was changing shoes and nothing.
it makes me ride harder. Not getting my miles keeps me from doing more bootcamp workouts TBQH. I did strength and bike today so I can get my miles.
New feature coming soon called Stacks. It’s essentially a playlist for your workout. Screenshot below. This combined with Sessions (when it returns) are two nice new additions to the user experience.
Say you want to do a warm-up+HIIT & Hills+cooldown+stretch. Instead of trying to find each class after you finish the ride preceding it, you would stack them and after each one is complete it would go to the next.
BIke+ arrived, had given up hope when our 4-6 delivery window ended. They called at 6:45 saying they were 20 minutes away.
I would like to apologize for my earlier snarky comment about this list. Jess Simms is skyrocketing up the rankings.
She is the best at what she does by a mile. My early Emma love keeps her up there but jess is special.
Currently my top 2 instructors are Alex and Kendall. I like Alex’s style of kind of being a hardass/motivator but he also is pretty entertaining. Plus he usually does hip hop type playlists which is preferred for me. Kendall is #2 for obvious reasons + she usually has fun classes/music as well. Will make it a point to try a Jess workout now soon though.
Also, I chatted with support about the seat. The representative asked me to make sure it was tight, which I did as tight as I could. She told me if I ride tomorrow (already had rode before I contacted) and the seat is still loose reply to this email she sent me and they will ship me a replacement seat. Tempted to just say ship it, because 1. Why not and 2. I figure there’s a wait for that to come. I’m also going to go buy a board to put under my bike in place of the mat we currently have on top of carpet.
What do you mean? Besides the obvious differences? I am not asking that to be an ass but the answer is yes and there are obvious differences but they aren’t huge differences imo. bigger screen that you can move. Better sound because of a sound bar. Ability to use “follow” feature that automatically keeps you at the resistance the instructors set. Those are obvious differences but I don’t think they make for a different experience. I do one bootcamp class a week. The ability to move the screen to have a better view of the instructions would be cool but not a must. I use headphones so sound bar isn’t a big deal to me. The auto follow feature (whatever it’s called) is not a big deal to me because It only works within the numbers they give you so if you’re above those it’s useless. That said if I didn’t have one already I’d get the bike+ but having one already the upgrades aren’t must have. Just need to ask yourself if those things are worth $700 to you. I
I messed up my back so haven’t ridden in probably a year. Wife is riding now so at least the bike is getting used. I saw that a few people were upgrading so I was thinking maybe upgrade for her. I have done no research in what was new. Your post keeps me from doing any research. Thank you.
Two thoughts: 1) Kendall’s Metallica ride is the best ride I’ve taken to date. Hit a 45 minute PR and honestly didn’t feel like I had a choice in the matter. 2) For stretching Rebecca Kennedy is tops IMO and her most recent 10 minute stretch is truly something to behold.
