It’s kind of amazing that no one has been able to knock off the two OGs and in fact they have only gotten bigger and stronger. Netflix has been nominated for Oscars (shitty Scorcese bullshit, my whole childhood, and a movie about Two Catholic molesters), and Hulu is now adult FOX/Disney service
Has anyone watched The Passage yet? The book was pretty good, so I'm curious how the show turned out.
Hulu is in a weird spot, with legacy relationships from when it had more owners with smaller stakes (e.g. Fox, Comcast). Now it is majority owned by Disney with full control. I think Hulu's connections to other platforms (e.g. HBO) will shrink and it will become increasingly "Disney-fied". Warner Media actually divested its stake last year, with HBO Max implications abound.
How does hbo max not have firestick or roku support. Is there a way i can add hbo max that i got from ATT to my youtubetv account?
I read yesterday that HBO Max already has Fire and Roku apps built and ready to go, but are just waiting for negotiations and a deal.
I am interested in this too, but I don't think it works. The terrestial hbo channel is not included, even if the shows and films are packaged as VOD on HBO Max.
Is NBC on Hulu live unwatchable for anyone else? The local feed out of Cleveland has been pixilated garbage for over a month now. No issues on any other stations.
This new bundle means you might be able to get Apple TV Plus, CBS All Access, and Showtime for $14.98 per month — and if you have a free subscription to Apple TV Plus via buying a new Apple device, it will be even cheaper at just $9.99 per month (that is, until that free year of Apple TV Plus runs out).
Posted in Netflix thread, but I'll post here as well since the movie is on Prime. I've brought this movie up many, many times since it came out over 5 years ago, and I'm going to bring it up again, since it was recently added to Prime. If you liked Behind Enemy Lines with Owen Wilson, I think you'll really enjoy this one, '71. https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B00ZS85TI2/ref=atv_wl_hom_c_unkc_1_1
have any of the prime'ers tried out Bridget and Eamon? Shit is incredibly stupid and bizarre, but I have to say, there are moments that are fucking hilarious
Paramount+ will include content from Comedy Central, CBS, BET, Paramount, and other ViacomCBS brands, as well as new original series, live sports, and breaking news. According to ViacomCBS, Paramount+ will launch in early 2021 in Australia, Latin America, and the Nordics before expanding elsewhere across the globe. The new service will build upon CBS All Access, the brand’s premium add-on service, and serve as a one-stop shop for all things ViacomCBS, from movies to TV shows and more.
Hello yes I did. It was very creepy, had some classic weird old religion lurking in modern times stuff like Midsommar or Wicker Man. Engrossing at times but ultimately just OK IMO
the language in the email says "for being a long time friend of YTTV" so likely not only existing customers, perhaps those who have been there a while. I believe I subbed the first month it was available. Here is the email to look for.
The with Google TV is basically a regular streaming device like fire TV. Has a remote and a UI that can operate independently of a phone or computer.
"Google TV" is just an interface. Its basically a facelift on the existing Android TV look and feel. This device supports all android tv apps and has a remote.
I already had one but would be nice to replace the piece of shit Fire Stick I have in the kitchen with it.
I think I counted about 5-6 free Google devices around the house, due to these promos for their customers.
according to their site, you buy one and get $60 off your first three months of ytv so new subscribers can get one too i guess
Stick around and you'll get one. Add in a YouTube Premium subscription (which I think comes with YouTube Music sub as free bonus) and it will come even faster
Verizon was sending out free Verizon streaming stick type things, but I could never get the order to process to check it out.
Comcast doing the same for certain Xfinity customers. I told my sister to do it and she said the eligibility and order process was too confusing and never got hers.
CBS All Access’ days are numbered... in name, at least. ViacomCBS has revealed that Paramount+, its expansion and rebranding of All Access, will launch in the US on March 4th.
Does anyone use a VPN with their Roku? trying to figure out the best way to keep it connected to the VPN (I'm in UK but want to connect to US streaming services) and the options I've seen so far are a bit clunky.
I Shouldn't Be Alive is great. It's an old show from the early 2000s that I used to love. Amazon Prime has a copy cat that's pretty similar called I Survived that I'm watching now, the first episode is pretty good. I'm not sure which of the 2 series I like better. I liked the reenacted dramatizations on the original, and the new one doesn't have those, but it is newer, so that helps.
I used to watch the shit out of I Survived There was one episode where a guy was fleeing for his life after being bludgeoned in the head by some craigslist creeper. As a lady walks by pushing her kid on a stroller, he yells for her help, but the attacker catches up to him and is all "lol mike stop playing around!" and she just kept on going
