didn't kop, but I came across these from a local (DFW) artist. I was tempted for half a second to spend the $900 to complete my gameday ensemble
This probably isn't what you're looking for but I bought some George branded t-shirts at wal mart because they were $5 and soft. Been wearing them every day ever since in a WFH setting. I picked up a zip up fleece for $13 that was also George branded a couple weeks ago. Fits great and is comfy. /oldmanpost
welcome to the club. I have a head unit (with all the bells and whistles) and rear camera on my 04 Tahoe with 200k miles. The tech in the dash is newer than most brand new cars and with Android Auto, all apps, maps etc are getting updated and improved even far after the original purchase.
What do you prefer between Patagucci and Bean? I have a 1/4 zip better sweater that I like but want a full zip. Didn't know how Bean compared warmth wise?
Counterpoint, I own no Bean, but I own a lot of Patagonia and they have never steered me wrong. Plus, if you care about the company you’re buying from, Patagonia seems pretty awesome.
I wore Patgonia while hiking Patagonia Spoiler It wasn't waterproof so I had to switch to an Arcteryx jacket someone gave me
Have both Bean and Patagonia fleeces. Patagonia will last longer. Use to be fine to save money and buy Bean with their lifetime guarantee but then they axed it. Bean is still good and I have plenty of their stuff but if u plan on being rough on it go with Patagonia.
I'll have to look into that. Not the right thread but the "How I Built This" podcast is pretty good, they had the founder of Patagonia on, Yvon Chouinard, really cool listen and very interesting.
The Columbia guy is pretty great too, right? They talked about him on the Gearhart episode of No Laying Up, since he owns the place
Chouinard is a legit outdoorsman. He's part of the OG crew that climbed in Yosemite before Alex "Free Solo" Honold and also did some cool first ascents with Fred Beckey. In addition to founding Patagonia, he formed the predecessor to Black Diamond (was reformed in bankruptcy due to product liability lawsuits).
Arcteryx alpha (LEAF) is my favorite rain jacket. Layer any kind of insulation you need underneath and you’re good to go.
To do it properly I had to take the seats out and take the dash apart ( running mic, finding parking brake and reverse switches, rewire existing amp) and hide all the new wiring but it paid off, it looks stock and the apple CarPlay is very intuitive, easy to use. A relatively cheap upgrade that does a lot to freshen up an old truck. My wife walking by when I’m in the middle of it Spoiler
MoJo you are more of a a man than I Installation was free with purchase (Frys electronics) and the installer was cool. They didn't sell the mounting plate/fascia and a couple other odds/ends so I brought him a box with a few things for the install, and threw in a brake bypass (so video can play when the car is in motion) and he "looked the other way". Took maybe 4 hours, over the second half of a workday. Carplay/Android Auto is life. Way better than the UI/infotainment systems on Toyota/GM and the others I have seen.
I used to love installing head units. I always drew the line at running wires, but fiddling with the existing stuff was so much fun. That pioneer unit with the dolphin screensaver
A) dammmnnnnnnnnn!!! B) How good are these head units? I love the sync Ford uses but mine is 6 years old and getting clunky. To replace it with the new version is like 2k so I’m considering aftermarket. note, I’ve not done a head unit/system install in like 10 years.
Except kind of the opposite. Volkswagen was founded by the Nazis, used concentration camp labor (and now arguably slave labor from Uyghurs), actively fights organized labor here, committed one of the largest corporate frauds in world history, and has the worst environmental record of any auto maker.
