Hit the unmute button, still looking at him dead straight in the eyes. 3. Take remote and put it inside your pants and run it through your ass crack, do not break eye contact. 4. Set remote down, do not break eye contact until after this is done.
I was thinking more like “hey would you mind if I turned the sound back on?” If he says “sure, no problem” like a normal person then eventually asks if he prefers to listen to games with no sound, and you can follow up and ask why if he doesn’t give much info. If he says “no” then remind him who is railing his daughter and turn it on anyway.
I would come back and be all "oh sorry, guess I accidentally hit the remote and muted the game when I got up" and unmute it. At worst it starts the conversation.

My FIL is 72 but looks like he’s much older. Had a lot of health issues but very nice guy and we get along well. Not the kind you would imagine is any good with technology, he’s always asking me questions about his phone how to work the TV etc. Today the wife and I were hanging hooks to hang string lights and he says watch this, he takes one hook and and puts it in the drill and uses it to drill that hook in and says “I learned that from TikTok” Could have knocked me over with a feather

Mid July. He just retired but won’t get the vaccine. Already very hesitant to go out to eat when we go out which is about 95% of what they look forward to. We are flying down so we are right back in to our pre-covid routine of uncomfortable discussions.
Uhh now is the chance to put your foot down and say you're not going to do anything if they don't get vaccinated.
Whew buddy if he's scared of covid and won't get the vaccine he's going to have a real bad time in Myrtle Beach. There won't be a mask in sight and plenty of those people aren't going to be vaccinated either.

I’m on vacation with my in laws this week. My FIL is in fine form, but this one took the cake tonight. He is watching tv in the family room and my son is obsessed with sharks right now. My father in law and mother in law are moving where I live from across the country next week. MIL is great, I love her to death, father in law is fine but literally never stops talking, ever.
Laughed at perhaps but I think a grandparent would want to make time for their grandkids on a family vacation. Mine did.
Also to be fair I found out later in life from my mother that she got mad at my dad’s dad for telling me to calm down and be quiet when I was like 5 years old and my initial thought was “I probably deserved that.”
