Using the bassinet (even tho it comes with the Vista) is a rook move. It has like a two month window of use.

I was so happy my wife changed her mind on that thing. When she got pregnant the Vista was immediately the thing she had to have. Then she went to the store and pushed them all around and found a lot half the price were just as good.

those double strollers are so fucking expensive. i think we spent $200 on a used(!) one. but they are certainly nice to have when the weather is good.

we spent $800 on ours. It’s not really a choice to have one though.

I would only get a Snoo if my kid were really having trouble sleeping. If your kid is naturally an easy sleeper than it's a waste of money. But if your kid wakes up 4-5 times a night and it fixes that, then well it's worth every cent. I wanted to get one for my daughter after my son didn't sleep through the night til 18 months. But she has slept from 7-7 since basically the night we took her home.

My son played tball at 4.25 years and that was too early. He was much more ready at 5.25 years (and then Covid shut everything down the weekend after opening day).

4 month sleep regression hit this week and hot damn is it bruuuuutal. He was crushing nights like a champ: out 5-7 hrs when we put him down then 1-2 feedings in the early morning. Now we’re back to the newborn schedule if not worse: 1 hr sleep max, 5+ feedings a night, crying and moaning even when he’s out, etc...

Then of course he’s tired and crabby during the day, and achy/mad from whatever growth spurt or teeth are causing the regression.

Can’t wait for this milestone to pass. I’ve got maybe a week in me at this rate before I start to fall asleep standing up.

I know way too many people getting the Snoo before their kid is born. To each their own though I guess. Also, saw this one at buybuy baby and I think there is another brand similarly priced too.

I am feeling pretty good about what I did find for Levi for Christmas as as my wife would not let me not pick out a present for him. This site has all sorts of stuff you can get your kid’s name on.

Bonus, my wife said fishing is the theme she has picked out for his 1st birthday party and she was excited he would already have this for it. Women are fucking weird man.

So made some brown rice baby food on Sunday. Levi would not touch it on his own. Had an abundance of green apple food I had made so we have been mixing them together half and half. It is his favorite food so far, even more so than green apple on its own, or pear (his former favorite).

So much that he is actively eating it, lunging his head forward at every spoon and opening his mouth. So is this a normal thing moving forward and just happens to be a timing issue or is it that he likes it that much more than all the other foods? He is a week short of 6 months for reference.

Sounds like he just enjoys it. My boy made faces of displeasure with avocado at that age. But he loved green curry rice and would get audibly upset if we didn’t feed him quickly enough when we fed him that.

if your kid likes something run with it. I mean both of mine ate so many blueberries their poop was blue and now one doesnt touch them at all. you just kind of go with it as long as they put it in their face.

So 1/3 has a long and storied history of being a better athlete than me. But this week I’ve discovered that I can absolutely smoke her on distance running and cycling. Take that, you little asshole! All it took was a year of living 5000 feet higher than you!

It’s normal. Be prepared for him to make all kinds of weird movements and twitches. My kid would roll her eyes back and kinda make them spasm. Wife thought she was having a mini seizure or something. Turns out it’s just a new skill she learned and likes to show off sometimes.

I was paying 465/week pre covid... I suppose I win/lose that one. Now my wife and I manage care by WFH and a part time baby sitter who only runs us about half the daycare cost.

We had him in April. So he’s only really been taken cared of by me and my wife, also my mom when we went back to work. I kinda feel guilty sending him to daycare so early. But it’ll be nice to have some time for ourselves. I’m sure he’ll get annoying once he starts talking

I definitely felt the same way when she was only four months old and we wound up not keeping her full time in daycare when my wife started working less. If they're in a good daycare though it is very beneficial for them even at a very young age.

I'll be joining this thread sometime end of May first of June. Excited and a little scared at the same time as this is a huge lifestyle change for us both. Reading as much as I can to not as as many questions, but thankful for tips and other RECO's.
If it weren't for this damn pandemic I'd be taking full advantage of a perfect DD, but alas I can't/don't trust other people to not do the right thing.

We've been buying random things here and there as they've gone on sale this holiday season in preps for the little one. The little tips like "solid piece less places to get food in" are not things that I'd think about at first so thanks!

Find out in a few weeks if its a little girl or boy!
