McKenna 10, Russell 10, Eagle Rare. Any of those would be solid choices and if he usually drinks small batches should be pretty close proof wise to what he’s used to.
I know we are a Bourbon club, but my sister owns a restaurant in Stockholm, Sweden and they brew their own beer and now distill their own gin mainly for use in the restaurant. I just got my two bottles today. I have never been a gin fan before, but this is delicious. Very perfumey and leaves a really pleasant after taste. She only made 200 bottles in her first batch, but I am encouraging her to think about considering expansion, especially since she is getting killed in the restaurant business in Sweden right now with Covid. https://whippetlab.se/
No, I have only lived in two States, NY and Florida (at school). Haven't strayed very far. She moved to Italy and then Paris and then Amsterdam after college and lived in Paris and NY for many years. Usually the location involved teaching positions. About 6 or 7 years ago she took a professor job at a school outside of Stockholm, and has dual citizenship. If it is possible, she may even have triple citizenship with France, but not sure that is a thing. She owns a place there also. She speaks a ridiculous amount of languages fluently. Me, not so much. Polar opposites in pretty much every way, except we both like women.
what's the vote on brandy/cognac/armagnac? good shit that most bourbon drinkers like, but not big enough to have its own thread?
man, it sure is nice not having to work and having a bottle of Rare Breed to sip upon. made my first ever batch of Coquito today. it's delicious.
Sounds awesome, love European gin. Czech gin is my current favorite, but so many varieties and options.
I have zero experience with gin besides trying not to throw up while taking shots of cheap stuff in my early twenties.
I have too many vices at the moment, as it is. I'll just taste from Keef's stash when we're allowed to be around other humans again. Thanks though.
one of my favorite improvised drinks was gin with San Pellegrino Grapefruit soda with a splash or two of hopped grapefruit bitters
Moved into my new house today, unpacked a box from storage and a 1792 somehow made it into storage. It's now in my liver. Thought I packed all my bourbon up to hold onto while the house was being built Drinking my 4 Roses Al Young sample tonight to celebrate.
Went over to my buddies place for some outdoor tasting today. Rankings: 2020 GTS 2020 THH 2018 ER 17 2020 OFSB BP 2020 Lot B
I had a 2020 GTS sample tonight courtesy of Leeroy Jenkins! . Very, very good. Not secondary price good though. Sad lot b is at the bottom :(
It just didn’t have a lot going on compared to the others IMO. It’s certainly good, but the flavor and nose of the others were incredible while Lot B was muted.
Had probably #1 hangover of 2020 today. Very easy to poison oneself with high proof delicious brown drank. What did I do tonight? More delicious brown drank.
I’m flattered to think I had the smallest of roles in this. Also, you’re up and posting by 7:30am, so it can’t be all that bad
