My SIL gave me a beer advent calendar from Costco for my bday. Germans need to stick to making German beers and not English or American styles. This one probably used a lager yeast in a pale ale.
Last one of these. Sad. It was delicious and still drinking well despite being right up against a month old.
In Chicago we get standard Pseudo Sue, but I've been disappointed that I've not seen more TG offerings readily available. Up in Milwaukee there is a hell of a lot more of the interesting TG available. Now standard Pseudo Sue is fantastic so I shouldn't complain, but it'd be nice to see more.
I've had Pseudo Sue a few times before this drop. The Mosaic dry hopped was much better than standard Pseudo Sue.
grabbed a six of enjoy by 1.1.21 enjoy by was one of the first beers that really got me into IPA's, after bells two hearted, still really holds up
Yea they do. My buddy and I are trying to get our hands on some Pips but it’s so damn pricey secondary.
Have a few bottles of different Shramms I haven't gotten into yet. Interested to see how I feel about them.
Oh god no. The prices are absurd. But if you’re talking store-available mead, it doesn’t get better than Schramm’s.
I like to repeat this story occasionally and it’s documented in an old beer thread, but elite and super nice guy user Brocktoon once bought 100 bottles of The Heart of Darkness at $100 a piece (at the time). The price has gone up considerably since. I think that was ten years ago. https://www.schrammsmead.com/meads/the-heart-of-darkness/ They were picking up for multiple people, so it obviously wasn’t all theirs, but it was still remarkable.
well how was it (im drinking a drekker king of the thing which is delightful and continues their run as maybe the safest brewery to just buy anything they make)
Going to try it later tonight after dinner. I won’t lie not sure I’ve seen many DIPAs at 9.4% so I’m definitely intrigued.
Myself and a couple other locals guys bought around 150 bottles of a 216 bottle release. It was the first batch and before mead took off so bottles just sat at the tap room. I wouldn't waste my time chasing Pips especially at the cost. Adds way too much to back sweeten. Blows Angry Chair pastry stouts out in the diabeetus level Kinghorn817 if you have fedex account, message me a self addressed label and I'll send you a few bottles of local stuff to try
Standard Mead out of the Chicago area is also making good stuff. A few of the guys in here are friends with the owners/mead makers sulli520
