Probably a more likely scenario, but considering he just signed a new deal before the loan I’m skeptical
Thank you #Wolverhampton Wanderers for the loan of Morgan Gibbs-White. He knocked in the winning goal for us today against Preston North End.
Pretty good play by the defense and we created some really good chances today. We get Rhian back and keep everyone....oh boy we may be lifting a trophy come may. I'm going to dream of Rhian up front with Ayew and Lowe on the wings. Lol
Club finally announced that Dyer is training with the club but also actively looking for a new club. So certainly after 11 years a Swan his time at the club has come to an end. Hopefully he gets a proper send off in the future, maybe when he and Routs both hang it up. Joel Asoro sent to Genoa on loan with option to buy. Looks like Rhian will be headed to Sheffield United for a permanent move, so that story is probably over. So I wonder if we bring in Brighton striker Gyokeres or whether Potter keeps him in his plans. So still looking for a striker and a central defender to strengthen the squad pending nobody panic buys any of our guys.
Alan Tate just threw down a Birmingham player by the throat at the end of the half. Cant wait to hear more about that.
Just no real build up play, too many long passes over the top. Or we will see the team make a few good passes get around the box and then a weak cross or a shit delivery that nobody can do anything with. Really no energy from either side. Just going through the motions but then again that is a Karanka side well organized side that causes a lot of frustration.
Plenty of possession but just no answer for Birminghams defense. Just couldn't break then down. Really struggled to move the ball up the pitch.
Another big three points today. Love that we brought Viktor in from Brighton. Tough scrappy match today but a solid win.
Unfortunately Steven Benda does give up the first conceded goal of the season while Woodman was out with a stomach bug.
Yeah the dream of the clean sheetson is dead but we still have faith in Freddie. I like the winning most though. Hopefully the teams in front of us start losing soon. Don’t want to rely on just beating them ourselves.
Yeah I'm a bit impressed with Bristol so far. Bournemouth looked really strong yesterday. Championship really seems wide open this year. Nobody really came in as sure fire favorites. Lot of time left though. Biggest sign if we are going to be pushing for promotion/playoff is if we can hold onto everybody this window.
So in a bit of odd news...Kaplan is out as a director on the board. Still a shareholder and majority owner but off the board. Julian Winter was added to the board which makes sense with his role replacing Birch. Sam Porter also added to the board. Just another DCU guy who was previously/is the director of legal and business affairs. Curious to see what comes of this. Rodon bids are going to come, so we either don't sell and make our ambition known or we sell and give Cooper a depleted squad and no ambition.
Not sure if you watched the match yesterday but what an infuriating two hours. We were so dominant in attack in the 1H but couldn't get anything to go in. Then the goals we have up were so damn lazy.
However in regard to the window. Hot take but I'm happy with where we are. This window couldn't have worked out much better. Selling Rodon for the amount was shit business, everything else was fantastic. Would have loved to keep Joe but excited to see him progress with Spurs, hope he gets an opportunity to play.
It really seems like Ayew has had a change since Cooper has been here. He really seems like he’s settled into that elder statesman type role where he’s just excited for the team
He's been absolutely amazing. I truly believe that he only stayed with us because of his relationship with Cooper. He's on great wages of course but he could have easily found a landing spot. Cooper overall has been a great hire.
Fun season. Nice to see a defense that can hold onto a game. Haven't lost this year when scoring first. Another upcoming window always scares me as a selling club but ownership and club has to be thinking top 2 and not a quick buck at this point if it's money they are after. Although fair play to them the last few decisions have been good to great.
Yeah. Right now I’m in full “let’s not screw this up” mode. The squad seems good enough to compete for promotion. The other teams are going to make some moves. Hopefully we remain just as strong on the other side of the window.
He didn’t really play a lot. It feels like a bigger loss than I can actually point to. He certainly has ability and we’re a stronger team with him but I think we could still be okay without him? We’re sitting in second right now. Hopefully we’ll get to play against him in the prem next season.
Isn’t he just coming off a knee injury or something? He seemed like he played well in the limited time before he got hurt.
He did. And he was just coming back. No doubt we’re a better team with him, but we’ve also done pretty well without him. So I’m not completely broken up about it. Maybe we get a loan replacement from some other squad for the second half of the season.
Time to bump with the Jordan Morris news. Get a fresh addition of Swansea fans in the US. Lol Lot of talk about Woodman leaving and being sold to Arsenal among other suitors. I'm hoping like hell we have a clause of some sort but who knows. Excited for the second half of the season and trying not to look too far ahead. All it takes is a bad week or two and we can fall back in the table.
Next Friday is a huge match against Norwich. If we can get another 3 points there, I might start to get pretty excited about this season.
If this keeps up swans are going to have to pay like £10m+ for hourihane Really happy to see him doing so well
That didn’t go well but it seems like we weren’t really trying to win with only half the normal starting lineup. Oh well. Focus on the league. Get top 2. Get 2 chances at City next season.
Worst fucking Saturday possible. Complete collapse of a performance and Morris is done in a Swans shirt. Was excited about what he brought but luckily we do have some depth.
We were due for a clunker. Got by with a less than stunning effort during the week. Couldn’t do it again.
Meant to post Saturday but yeah not a good performance. In fairness the last few haven't been up to standard. We just got lucky against Huddersfield. I worry about the lack of rotation with a very heavy fixture list for the run in.
Yeah seems like they’re a little gassed or had started believing they could just win with lackadaisical effort. Whatever it is, hope they can get back to the better form that got them to the top of the table.
What a fucking year. Got to where we should be which is the final and a chance at promotion but damn were there periods late this year where I was certain we were done for. Steve Cooper two years in club football and playoffs both years and a Final now.
Sat in that #2 spot for a good stretch of the season but faded at the end to drop into the playoff spots. One more win would mean everything.
