He’s going to run into the Saban problem of not being able to draft 25 1st/2nd round picks every year.
Local news reporting it but sourcing Bleacher Report https://www.actionnewsjax.com/sport...aguars-head-coach/IJ3KHMFALVE3PERSZGKKT23Q2M/
Not specifically. But I’m sure they realize they’d set season ticket sales records with the large UF chunk of their fan base. Not to mention, it also prob helps that he has a home in Florida and has chose to spend a lot of his time there. Less likely for him to pull the medical condition exit from a place he is comfortable with.
If this follows the Saban track, whatever college hires him after this washout will hit the jackpot. Congrats Southern Cal/ND
With how much losing affects his health, he very likely could stroke out by week 12 in his 1st season.
Do I think its the only reason? No. Do I think it is a plus for him when they are comparing coaches? Absolutely. Just look at the number of UF players they've drafted. It's not a coincidence.
I know another former coach that failed in the NFL and came back to college and had success at a different school!
Does said coach enjoy Crown Royal, speak with a heavy lisp and probably own an extensive collection of MAGA hats?
Rumors that the jags owner is going to give him full control oh those poor nole/jags fans who have hated CUM for so long...
Yeah. Actually it is. They aren’t drafting UF fans to attract UF fans. This isn’t some sort of DBL fantasy football.
Your fascination with me is disturbing. Just put me on ignore and stop replying to every one of my posts.
Lamping runs the business and is in charge of ticket sales. GM selects the players. Lamping has close to zero interaction with the GM and football operations. Not sure if Weaver had the same set up.
TL is a given. But why not have an extra ace up your sleeve? That said, I would bet that Meyer alone without the draw of TL would still set records. Gators fans or not. So the two together is def the biggest buzz the Jags could ever hope for.
Is that a thing? I thought your weird fanbase were the only ones to allow something from the college game to impact pro fandom. I'd take CUM anywhere if his heart could give me a few years
I get it but I really don’t think Urban being a former UF head coach is the driver. More because Urban has been successful everywhere.
I’ve asked Lamping how involved he is in the draft so, yeah, probably a little more intimate knowledge than what you’ve gathered.
I'm sure he's going to tell you their entire inner workings. Again, 5 of the last 15 have come from 1 school. 5 of that school's last 18 1st round picks. If you choose chalk that up to coincidence bc you asked Lamping and think he's going to open up about the inner workings to you, go for it.
I'm just laughing at you taking Lamping at his word on something like that as if he would really admit that. And hell he may not even know about it. Him saying he's not involved isn't some hard-core proof that it's just coincidence.
